This wasn’t a meal. This was a religious experience. The smoke ring on the brisket was prettier than most sunsets I’ve seen. The ribs fell apart easier than my last relationship. If I go missing, check the booth in the corner — I’ve moved in permanently.

This was my first time at this restaurant and it will be my last. The atmosphere was unfriendly and unwelcoming, the lady assembling our order appeared to be scowling. However, the tall cashier was nicer. Regarding the food, the brisket was very dry, and on the other hand the sliced turkey was good. Part of the experience is not just the food and cleanliness but the overall friendliness of the staff👎🏻

On 9/9/25 at around 7pm my husband bought me a loaded nachos with extra brisket chips were extremely stale couldn't enjoy my $25 nachos. Won't be getting that again was very disappointed and was looking forward to eating them

Billy Sims really cares about the Newton community!! I am in a trying time currently with 3 small kiddos and I reached out to the community for support and Billy Sims delivered! They offered us a free meal and we went in for lunch, and they provided 3 lunch specials and some goodies to take home! The staff was friendly and accommodating as well! Thank you Kari for the help on a last minute basis and showing us what compassion truly is!

The sliced brisket was dry, not real impressed. We didnt get the pickles that were supposed to come with the meals. The chips were wrong. And the 2 girls working at the counter looked and acted like they wanted to be anywhere but there. We ordered online, probably wont be doing this again.

Wow, what a turnaround. Billy Sims in Newton has truly brought the flavor and quality back. The food was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. My family had the sliced brisket and bbq bologna and both were full of flavor and cooked just right. The ribs were packed with meat and cooked perfectly. The baked beans tasted just like they did when the place first opened. Rich, flavorful, and comforting. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and hit the spot.
On top of the great food, the restaurant was spotless and the team working there was fantastic. The employees were welcoming, upbeat, and genuinely seemed to enjoy interacting with customers. It made the whole experience even better.
If you have not been in a while, it is definitely time to give it another try. I would recommend this location again and again. Thanks to all the staff for making it such a great place to eat once more.
