We met some friends for dinner. I had the steak quesadila, and my wife had the steak chimichamga. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. And the atmosphere and decor is really awesome. We will definitely go back when in Newton again.
Excellent service, large portions. The chicken enchiladas with verde sauce had excellent flavor. The meal (Mexican flag enchiladas) actually had some heat without adding it. They have a unique variety of sauces and the decor is fun. If I lived in Newton, I would be a regular customer. Some of the best guacamole I have ever had (I typically don't even bother eating the guac on my plate).
Recently, some friends told me that Catrina's has the best, most authentic, Mexican food around. My family went for lunch today. It was definitely the best Mexican food I have ever had! We really liked their guacamole. It was served in a cute little fried flour tortilla - like a miniature taco salad bowl. The enchiladas supremas were fantastic, the enchilada sauce was especially good. Even the sweet tea was noteworthy. Big portions, great value, delicious meal.
