We enjoyed a phenomenal belated anniversary dinner last night at Saltwell. It was our first time back since a 2023 fire forced them to shutter their doors for restoration. The experience starts with a scenic 30-minute drive down winding country roads, past rolling fields and limestone fences, to an 1800's-era farmstead complete with rustic barns and a host of farm animals. Lovely ambience and the staff were very nice. Had a lovely cous cous salad course and the focaccia is absolutely to die for. The sirloin main course was tasty, but it was served with mashed potatoes shaped like something from a school cafeteria. The dessert was forgettable by the time we got around to it. The pace of service was awfully slow. We didn’t leave until 4 hours after we’d arrived and that’s too long for my tastes. Considering we paid 125 a head this fell short...
I can’t say enough good things about Saltwell Farm Kitchen. From the moment we walked through the front door and into the kitchen, we were greeted by the chef and staff like we were old friends. The whole experience felt like a holiday dinner at a close relative’s home—warm, inviting, and completely relaxing.
The setting is stunning. The farmhouse, surrounded by a walnut grove and farm animals, feels like the perfect backdrop for a meal made with the freshest local ingredients....
