Bought two bottles of wine here a year ago and the first bottle was just awful . Called the owner and he wouldnt replace it .
If it were possible to leave zero stars, I would. ONLINE BUYERS BEWARE! Last Christmas, we ordered six bottles of wine to be shipped to relatives in another state. The wines arrived at their out of state destination, but the four bottles of reds were pure vinegar and undrinkable. We tried numerous times to contact Prairie Fire Winery through email, text messaging, and by phone. NO ONE returned any of our messages. Our concerns were completely ignored. Seems as though they have no customer service at all. If you want to send a fun gift of Kansas wine to friends or relatives, don't choose this winery to do it!
Prairie Fire is a great place to spend an afternoon. The winery is set in a great location showcasing the prairie. The wines are exceptionally good and include many styles to suit everyone. Highly recommend for locals looking for a relaxing weekend trip and those traveling 70. It’s a quick stop off the interstate.
I loved the place. We made a reservation to taste the wines and it was a wonderful experience. The lady who welcomed us was very friendly. He seated us around, explained to us and finally began to serve us.They have a variety of dry, semi-dry, sweet, and even mulled wines (my favorite). They also have a variety of snacks, cookies and cheeses to combine with the wines. The area is beautiful, to spend an afternoon picnic with your friends and family.
Myself & 3 friends stopped an afternoon at Prairie Fire. We didn’t have a booked tasting, but Julie and Bob & their team were so amazingly accommodating and such a joy. We tasted 4 wines and a sangria and the show stopper was the warm mulled Red! I truly appreciate the passion they have for their craft and in sustainability. I took home a growler of the red mulled along with several cheeses, summer sausage and a candle in their beautiful store. If you are considering a stop at this winery, it’s so well worth it. The views are incredible and the whole ambience is just perfect.
Stopped in with some friends and had the BEST time! From the fantastic service and warm and inviting atmosphere to the sweet friendly pup we got to meet - we couldn’t have had a better afternoon and can’t wait to visit again!
Awesome people, awesome wine!
Friendly, good wines, and a pretty view!
Amazing winery full of local products and top notch service. Worth the visit!
Very enjoyable wine tasting experience. Some really nice inexpensive wines, and a great selection of candles made on site.

This is a great place to sit and sip a little Kansas wine ? We are just a few Texas grape growers and wanted to see how they do it in Kansas they have harsh weather and cold winter nights producing wine grapes is a tough gig and I makes it taste so good when you get it in the bottle thanks you for the great talk
Stopped in for the first time and I guess you need reservations as we arrived at 1:50 and there was a group with another coming at 2, however, we were still there st 2:15 and no one had shown up. We ended up just buying a bottle not knowing the taste and I bought candles since they were nice. It was a nice venue but not likely to go back since it seems if you don’t have reservations they don’t care about youGo
We were greeted by the owner who was very rude and made us leave because we had more than 6 people. They weren’t busy at all and he said he already turned down two groups of 15 before we got there because they didn’t make a reservation. I understand making reservations if the place is busy, but I guess this place doesn’t like making money. He checked our bags and took pictures of our license plates because we got upset when he turned us away. I’ve never had such a terrible experience at an establishment before. We went to Wyldewood just down the road and they were so friendly and accommodating. We will not go back to Prairie Fire
Super friendly staff and an absolutely gorgeous location. Not to mention delicious wines. Will be out to visit more often
Prairie Fire is an exceptional winery that is somehow both out of the way and right next to the interstate. Top to bottom all wines are great. Beautiful location too.
