If you’re left leaning politically, this may be your place. Not a great place for families or those with traditional values. Pride is constantly thrown in your face. They have tarot nights and openly promote witchcraft. Also they haven take a lot of money from government grants. The food is like someone can’t stop experimenting. Weird popcorn. Must order and pay first, then get a waiter/waitress. Tips are shared so you can’t reward for doing good. The bread is dry. Sourdough nothing like you can get in San Francisco. I went with a group. It was hard to hear, food didn’t come out right and we were pretty uncomfortable. Mac and cheese had a weird after taste.
Ordered the Chika-Chika Bow Bow — it was a little small for the price, but considering it’s an upscale, family-owned spot, I can let it slide. The atmosphere and popcorn were fantastic!
everything about toast is top-tier; from the art adorning the walls to the handcrafted cocktails and fresh, local ingredients used in each perfectly curated dish! it’s my #1 recommendation to people on the hunt for a cool spot to grab brunch, lunch, or even just a coffee + sweet treat pick-me-up!
Good food, made from scratch every time with quality LOCAL ingredients. Most sourced right here in SEK. Can’t beat the pricing either, cheaper and better quality than eating at a chain!
I recommend EVERYTHING about TOAST! The food, the people, the atmosphere, how involved they are in so many aspects of the local community. The list could go on and on! They have a meal to fit your every mood. Whether you want something light and fresh or hearty and filling. Top it all off with a gelato or other from scratch sweets. Oh yea did I mention it’s all literally from scratch? Because it is. And it’s amazing. Great thing is, they have a fairly extensive market! So you can take those yummy things home to make your own dishes with! Love ‘em so much ❤️ definitely don’t miss out
Each time I have eaten here the service/wait time for food has been deplorable. I order quick but then it seems the kitchen/waitress forgets about my food & drinks. Ive waited 40min to get a drip coffee & the same to get a drink made. Then have waited an hour for food despite the restaurant not being busy. Will not be returning.
I came to Toast for the first time after a not-so-great day in class looking for a quiet place to get work done and have a good meal. I heard good things about Toast, so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised that there was no wait even at lunchtime, you got to look at a menu immediately, paid first, and went to sit down wherever you liked. I love that kind of service and wish more restaurants did that.
The atmosphere was lovely, it was mostly quiet, and the food was delicious and made with care. The staff were friendly and helpful and were very attentive to my needs. There is also a discount for students, which I forgot to take advantage of but definitely will next time. I highly recommend this spot for a good lunch and a good place to get your stuff done.
I love this place! Every single thing is delicious. Made with as many locally sourced ingredients as they can get. You walk in, grab a menu, then order at the counter and park yourself at a table. If you'd like a few cocktails, as to start a tab at the register. Also ..Save room for the gelato! It can be a bit loud or busy at times, but I've always enjoyed my visits to TOAST. Play a board game or eat several bowls of their addictive chipotle popcorn and soak in the atmosphere.
TOAST has been my favorite restaurant in Pittsburg since it opened. The staff is kind, helpful, and often goes above and beyond. The restaurant is decorated with local art. The menu is phenomenal. There are so many great options and the seasonal dishes are always something to look forward to. They use local ingredients as much as possible and have so many cool partnerships with local farmers. They do an amazing job of offering options for everyone. I have a gluten intolerance and have had no problems eating here. Many of their menu options are customizable to your needs. Just ask the friendly staff and let them know about your intolerance or allergies. They have gluten free bread, but you can also get many of their sandwiches on taters or on a salad instead of bread. I love to get the palluca's toast melt on a salad instead of bread. You should definitely stop by for lunch on taco Tuesday for some taco taters. I love the cubano sandwich and the logan's salad is so tasty. Their salads have REAL greens, not that iceberg lettuce. Let them know if it is your birthday and get a scoop of gelato and a cutting of a plant. They also have great drink options - cocktails and mocktails. They take their time with cooking your food to make sure it is right. Make sure you carve out enough time to eat. This isn't a fast food restaurant. Sit and savor your company and then sit and savor this tasty food.
TOAST not only serves up consistently great food, it is also serving it's community! When it comes to dining, the food is always fresh and delicious. When it comes to service, they are always attentive and kind. Our faves are their BLT+A or their Cubano!! You won't regret trying this fun and delicious spot!

Good, fresh and flavorful food. Relaxed atmosphere and satff.
While visiting Pittsburg, we decided to give the local vibe a try at Toast. pretty disappointing honestly, especially for the cost. The bacon egg and cheese toasted sandwich was decent, minus the bacon which was actually more like jerky and impossible to chew. The deviled eggs are advertised as hard boiled but are served runny. The biggest disappointment came in the form of soup,kinda.... The soup was said to be a creamy potato with carrots, cheese, chives and topped with chips. what we were served was a bowl of pureed carrots and potatoes with no seasoning or texture and looked like a bowl of diarrhea. 10 out of 10 don't recommend.
I just went to an art event at Pittsburg State University catered by Toast and it was such an extraordinary spread! Crackers, Meat, cheeses, various breads and toasted bits to make your mouth water.
It was enough to satisfy an entire crowd of hungry college students, artists, and guests. I think it would satisfy even a Hobbits hunger.
In fact if your planning a LOTR extended edition watch party or having a Mini- Renfest in your back yard then I'd have Toast cater!
