If you want large portions of really good food, you really should consider this place!!!! I've literally been here TWICE in 2 days!!! First visit, I had the fried chicken bowl, which was nothing short of amazing!!! Two scoops of potatoes & gravy with corn and chunks of fried chicken, in a large bowl, and a slice of garlic toast, it was sooo yummy!!!! Left there, soo full!!! Today, I had a huge chicken fried steak and creamy gravy with scrambled eggs , hash browns AND a biscuit. I have a huge appetite and I couldn't finish even half of the chicken fried steak, I had to bring it home for later!! Sooo good, and well worth what you pay for!!! I will most definitely be returning, with my phone so I can post pictures. This place is awesome!!!!

Went for an early dinner - and really glad we went early, because by 6ish, they were packed!Chicken tips with grilled mushrooms and onions were outstanding, as were the green beans. Country fried steak is HUGE - like the size of a 9" dinner plate, with some hanging off the sides - and mostly fork tender, with some tougher, gristly parts. All in all, great "country comfort food" at reasonable prices. Would love to see more dessert options, but will definitely be back!

Parking: No wheelchair access parking or ramp that I saw, nor does the door open electronically for those in wheelchairs.

Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair access parking or ramp that I saw, nor does the door open electronically for those in wheelchairs. Concrete steps are atrocious, steep, and with foundational cracks that are easy to trip over.

We were totally disrespected by a cook who was more concerned about his daughter a waitress than his customers who are paying there wages when we asked for them to turn the fans down. Instead of trying to work with the people who pay their wages we were told we could leave. We stopped eating at that moment left half our meals. Paid the $64 tab on 1/25/24 and left. We will never return and hope that this post reaches everyone and take our advice. DO NOT GO THERE

Christmas party. The kitchen asked for how we wanted our steaks cooked, but when the young servers brought them out they announced "medium" steaks and no one claimed them. So, back to the kitchen they went to become well done steaks. Ugh. When they determined there was an error, bacon wrapped sirloin was offered up and was very good for the cut! The sides... were ice cold! The bread arrived after the meal. BUT, very up-beat and positive service! Great atmosphere! Great drink service! I am hopeful!

Had chicken fried steak... not so good. Tough meat in places and excessive breading. The salad bowls were tiny. The lettuce looked like dandelion leaves. Probably won't go back, which is a shame as we heard so many good things....

First time I ate there I ordered the chicken fried steak. The portion of the chicken fried steak was very large. And I was happy to see that it was cooked in a traditional manner in a pan and not in a deep fryer and was hand breaded. Although the chicken fried steak was borderline two seasoned. It was still very good and was very pleased with it. The mashed potatoes that I ordered with the chicken fried steak on the other hand were a disappointment. They were cold somewhat hard for a mashed potato. Tasted more like a baked potato that had been mashed a little . I would not go as far as to say that they were yesterday's mashed potatoes. But overall the meal was definitely edible. But the second meal was far worse. I ordered the steak tips which came with mushrooms and onions. That is if you call a half a mushroom sliced into the thickness of a piece of cheese comeing with mushrooms. The mushrooms and onions were far from being cooked. The onions were still crunchy. And this isn't even what made the meal non-edible. The steak tips were so seasoned you could not taste anything but the seasoning. It was definitely a foul concoction of seasoning. If I had to guess the seasoning was some sort of pepper paprika red pepper cumin type concoction. It tasted like the steak had been rolled and tossed in this concoction. I had to consume almost an entire glass of Dr Pepper just to get the taste out of my mouth. And still had to get a drink on the way home to get the taste out of my mouth. You could see on the steak tips where the seasoning had burnt onto the meat. A very good indication of entirely too much seasoning. I do have to say that their service is top notch. They go out of their way to provide excellent service which is very hard to find. And their salad bar is excellent. They're salad bar is well equipped. Their salad dressings are not watered down like some places do to save a buck. And their salad bar has what I call real lettuce. Leaf lettuce not iceberg lettuce. They were very willing to bring me another entree when my steak tips were bad . But due to the fact that the unedible steak tips made me lose my appetite i did not want one. But they did comp the other person at my tabe. So I would say they did take care of that issue in a very professional manner Was not unhappy about the service at all. Like I said the service is outstanding. I just wished the owner would have came and spoke to me about it as I saw him speaking to other table. Due to my experiences I will not be dining here again. In my opinion I feel like some of their dishes are not refined enough for serving to the public. With a little bit more refining their food could be excellent.

The food was good. I ordered the fish and chips, and subbed in chips for coleslaw (slaw should be standard). Presentation was a bit lethargic. Fish laid on an empty plate ? (side of slaw) Someone in our party ordered the same dish, but had significantly larger fish and had more batter and just overall better (they ordered a side of slaw with chips, they were equally puzzled it wasn’t included). It tasted ok (super thin batter). Food came in a good amount of time.My wife loved her chicken littles!Excellent salad bar. Excellent server. Excellent fries (got some from someone else) These things would bring me back for a redo. This is just for whoever does the announcement to the public. If people want to call, get bad numbers or the golf course, people may not come from the general public. You’ll get your players, but there are more people eager to know you’re out there. Shouldn’t need to call four different numbers to reach you.In Chanute, feed us well, don’t cut corners. Be consistent. We’ll keep coming back!I often update my reviews after a revisit. Sorry no pics. Next time.
