Awesome BBQ! Got the 3 rib meal with 2 sides and was very impressed! This place probably has the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever ordered out.

I've been here many, many times as I'm a local and I've got zero complaints. If you're looking for some of the best barbecue around swing in. Their ribs are to die for. The BBQ parfaits are awesome and if you get a burrito you'll need nothing else as the burritos are HUGE!

I came in for the first time on the 10th of July around 11:15am, I bought a full slab and nachos and Mac and Cheese for the kids. The girl that took my order was probably the nicest person on the planet. She was super helpful and gave me recommendations. I get home to eat and took a bite of the ribs without sauce and it almost brought a tear to my eye. It was the best ribs I've ever had in my life. I'm originally from Kansas City but live in Wamego now. I've had a lot of ribs. These were just incredible. I didn't even want to put the sauce on it but knew I had to give it a try. The sweet girl up front told me to try Apple Chipotle. I took a bite of ribs with the sauce and the emotions were almost too much to hold back. I'll dream about these ribs tonight. Customer service was beyond perfect (I wish I got her name) but give her a raise. The pit master deserves to be the Mayor of Wamego. Thank you so much for giving me a great food experience. I needed that!

Excellent food! The smoked meat is absolutely delicious
This review is not for the restaurant physically located on Main Street. My husband and I walk the mile it takes to get there every year from where we sit to watch the annual fireworks. The food and amount at the restaurant is great. This review is for their offshoot at the fireworks area. We walked the mile to the restaurant to find they are closed on the 4th of July and we would have to get their food at the event site. $8.00 for a bag of chips and way below average tasting melted “cheese” and $12 for a very small pork sandwich with no side. A total disappointment. You would be so much better off at any of the food trucks including the corn dog truck.

Please note: this Rating ONLY applies to the remote tent version at 4th of July.
In past years we have enjoyed eating at their restaurant on the main drag. This year they decided to ONLY serve from the re. Grounds. We won't be back. Portions were smaller and lacked the quality of the regular site. To say we are disappointed is not assuring enough

Really tasty food with great service. We especially appreciated that they had outside seating so we could bring our dog. :)

I would venture to say the Brisket is nothing more than a rump roast...??? At $25 per pound that's a pretty good profit margin...!!! I do know this ..... I won't fall for it again

We happened upon Smokin Willes after visiting The Oz museum and it was a great.find.
They had awesome brisket and the baked beans were incredible. Their peach habanero sauce was great with a zip of hot and the others we very.good as well.
It has a backyard barbecue feel atmosphere and was not crowded adding to the atmosphere. It allow us to enjoy our meal and focus on filling our bellies.
The staff was friendly and made sure we enjoyed our meal and got our take on their excellent BBQ.
I will go back to Wamego, KS just for the bbq.
