This may be a first for me. Not only our first time in Cafe Maurice at 9747 E 21st street N, but the first time ever, for me, that I can't find even one negative. The food is delicious! My wife had the Tilapia, I had Beef Marcela and both couldn't have been better. That is quite unusual for me. Normally I find ingredients in the mashed potatoes or the sauce or Something that needs improvement. Not tonight. Maria, our waitress, was delightful and attentive. The atmosphere was quiet enough for low conversation, yet the piped in piano jazz was great!
Ok. My wife reminds me of a flaw that doesn't apply to every couple: They don't have a senior, or military, discount - which doesn't mar this review, but would have been icing on the cake.
All I can say is, come expecting the best.

The red-headed server was very friendly and observant, did a great job, unfortunately her body spray / perfume was extremely overpowering. Every time she came to the table I would smell chemicals from the body spray / perfume she uses. I'm not sure if that dampened the taste of the food as the entree was not very appetizing to me. They do give you large portions though and the salad was delicious. The dessert was ok The music was a little loud too, I do not recommend this place if you are sensitive to smells and sound. But if you are not, give it a try because they might surprise you.

Food was great. I felt the air conditioning was set a few degrees too low so maybe dress accordingly.

I absolutely love this place with my whole heart. I have been going here since they opened and have not once had a bad dish here. I probably go here once a week that’s how much I love it. Would recommend anything. Great service nice people and great food. I’ve had it catered for my birthday and many other events.

I came in during my break from work and I was quite happy with my choice today! Maria, I believe was her name, was very nice and attentive. I got the Tilapia Platter which was a very hearty meal considering I hadn’t eaten all day. I did however notice the rice had a “in a bag” like look to it but I understand that this is a restaurant trying to serve their patrons quickly, and it was delicious so I didn’t mind. After my belated lunch, I got a mini tiramisu to finish off the meal and not only was it what I felt was priced correctly, it was creamy and the ladyfingers were unbelievably moist. Overall, 9.5/10. I would bring a date here.
