Review edit - 2024: New owners and new chef. Nothing is like it was before. Nothing remarkable here. Service is okay, and the food isn't really horrible. The trouble is that this used to be the best steak between Las Vegas and Chicago, and now it's reasonably better than a ubiquitous chain restaurant. Much better steaks in the area offered by restauranteurs who aren't pretending to be somebody else who was there before them, and for a similar price. Also, for the price, anyone would expect very skilled service, which this place does not have.Review from 2018: The spinach salad is a must, and the center cut filet mignon is the best you will have in the Midwest. I have flown my family to Wichita just to experience the filet at Chester's Chophouse. Recently, my business partner and I brought one of our younger employees here to have the filet; I told him it would change his life, but when he ate it he actually shed tears. He said it was like finding salvation. Ha! I'm telling you, this is a true, dry-aged steak that has a texture that must be experienced. Although I typically would drink a Merlot with my steak, when I eat at Chesters, I like to complement the filet with a neat single malt.

Food was delicious, extremely noisy where we were seated not allowing table conversation and dinner was very slow coming!! Our server was excellent and tried to keep us informed about our food. Overall disappointing!!

We were seating at a smaller 2 top toward the back, near the window walls that open to the patio. The natural light was amazing and the ambience was just right. The baked feta appetizer was superb. It set our entire night off on the perfect note. My husband has the Wagyu steak special and I had the peach pork chops. Both meals were great. 9/10, easily! Our waiter, Tyler, was very polite, attentive and made our experience great! We will most definitely be back!

This was our first time visiting. Beautiful restaurant, attentive staff, but lackluster food. For the price, I expect better. My husband and I ordered filets and they were way undercooked (we know how to order steak). It was fixable, but annoying. The sides were lacking in flavor. I got the mashed potatoes and there were huge chunks of potato and they were plain. The asparagus was okay. We loved our drinks, though! The dessert was alright, too. We got the crème brûlée and tiramisu. I'd come back for drinks and sit on the patio, but wouldn't order food from there again.

We made reservations for 6:45 tonight, got there early about 6:30, we got seated in the back where where there were only a couple of tables occupied, the rest were empty, not very busy in my observation. So we sat and waited, and waited and waited for anyone or server to acknowledge our existence. Sadly me and my wife must be invisible tonight, numerous servers walked past us and not one came to take our drink order or say a single word. After 15 minutes of being ignored, my wife and I got up to leave and as we were walking to the exit we told a manager about our experience and all you can tell us is “I’m sorry”. We left and went somewhere else.

This was our first time at Chester's Chop House. We were there for our anniversary. We had a fantastic meal. Each course was excellent. Our entrees were well-executed and not your standard steakhouse meal. The waiter disappeared a couple times for an extended time, but overall, the meal, service and atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be back.

Waitress was great, her name was Paige. The food was OK, I preferred my wife's burger over my ribeye. The noise is insane there, I've been there many times and it's always loud.

Beautiful place, my Wife and I truly enjoyed the ambience and overall vibes of Chester's. The Live music added to our smiles for the night and the food was great. The service was up to par with the setting, overall stunning night. We will be going again.

Had a wonderful evening with the wife. Front of the house was okay. Could be a little more caring and friendly but in their defensive maybe they were busy. Our waitress was amazing! 5 stars for her. Food was excellent! 5 stars as well. Noisy in middle of the restaurant but we sat in back with view of water ambiance was perfect there. Prices are too high. Would probably visit restaurant more frequently but due to pricing will only be going on very special occasions.

Food was great. Service was great. One of Wichita's premier locations for fine dining. The Manager at this location is one of the best (if not the best) in the Midwest, take it from someone who travels over 300 days a year.

Excellent food and service as usual but because of Valentines Day maybe it seemed as though there were extra tables resulting in us being very close to the table next to us. Not as enjoyable when you are overhearing others conversation and vice versa.

With it being valentines they only had a special menu we could order from and not the normal menu. It was so loud and people so close together that I felt we couldn't talk a lot.

We had a wonderful first time! Food was wonderful. Would ask for either the booth near bar or close to water view. We were in main isle and was way busy, tight area and if sitting in the isle don't make quick movements to stand up or there could be an accident. Would also love softer toned music but that's an ambiance thing. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back for sure!

Chesters is the destination in Wichta, hands down. I've visited there too many times. My most recent was a dinner meeting, and we ended up just dining at the bar.Food was, as always, on point. I always say I go for the Beef Carpaccio and the Creme Brule. Everything in between is a bonus. The girls' tending bar are on point with their service, not overbearing but seem to know exactly when you need something.Chesters is not a "budget" dining option. However, you get exactly what you pay for, good whiskey, phenomenal service, and food that has no match in Kansas.
