In the meantime, a huge cockroach was walking across the floor. We immediately stopped eating and left. Unprofessional and disgusting.

It's a great place for burgers. The service was great and the people were friendly. As a lifetime resident of Wichita I was a child close to the original walk up burger bar on Seneca. They bring back memories as they still taste just as good as back in the 60s.

Dog N Shake holds a special place in my heart. I’ve eaten it my whole life. It reminds me of family. This is my favorite location. I used to live close by so went a lot. Now stop by when I can!Always, always get cheese fries. The best. I really have only eaten the classic dog. Can’t beat it. But their cheeseburgers are always a good choice. I’ve had a bite or two over the years haha. My husband tried their chili dog and it was great! I usually get their cherry limeade - always so good.The staff here have always been great. The hours work better for me, since some of the other locations close earlier. I’ve eaten in the lobby many times. Always clean.Kid-friendliness: Always see families there with young children. Very accommodating.

I've been going to the location on S Hillside since the 1970s (when it was a tiny little building on the corner). I love the dogs, burgers, and fries - great taste and the butter-toasted buns are a treat over other restaurants' plain buns. The shakes taste good but are pretty thick to drink through a straw. Limades are good, taste can vary some depending on who makes it. For me, Dog n Shake is a great little local burger and dog stand that gives you great value and doesn't pretend to be fancy, which is my preference - NORMAL fast food that tastes great, not the fancy "brioche" buns and battered fries some places offer. The S Hillside location consistently has great staff, too, with fresh food and reasonably quick service. Tip the staff if you go, they work hard! This will always be one of my favorite guilty pleasure foods. 5 stars for this local business.
I have not been to D&S in a hot minute. My grandson wanted to go because it was a place I took him to when he visited & was little. This was the first time I went to this one. Place is clean, staff is friendly & readily available yo get me something I asked for & the food was good. It reminds you of a place that should be on Diners, Drive Ins & Dives. Burger was hot and fresh and the fries???? Can I have some more!!! It is not fancy but the atmosphere and the ambiance is nice! Recommended!Parking: Pull straight in
