i dined in as a one person which they allowed( that’s a plus! i know some restaurants are pretty busy and usually for a big crowd) this one is perfect for that too. plenty of tables, i will say, however the booths are very tight, if you’re even slightly overweight you may have to wedge yourself in there but overall a minor issue. the service was really good, overall nice, and pretty quick. the food was good, not anything mind blowing, the portions are very good for what you pay for, the aglave burrito is what i got, very good shredded chicken, the veggies on top were really fresh, the rice had peas in it which was something i haven’t seen in mexican rice before so it was different not a bad thing! it was overall good. the price for a one appetizer and one plate of food was roughly 20 dollars plus a tip. obviously a family would pay a lot more but if you’re a single person looking for something new to try i would try this place, certainly get your fill. i heard from many customers ordering margaritas so it seems people have a taste for that here as well. the decor was very interesting, especially how the tables looked, the cleanliness of the place was good, just needs a good sweep around and under the tables but nothing gross. i give it overall a 4.5 out of 5

El Agave is LEGIT! Have tried many menu items & have yet to be disappointed. Food is solid! Flavorful, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. Chips and salsa - wonderful. Here's an inside tip - ask for 'Maclovio'... he will definitely exceed your service expectations. Actually thought he was a hands-on owner, the way he hustles and communicates with his guests. Truly remarkable. Pictured is a SLEEPER on the menu. It's the Special Dinner. For $14.99, you'll get one of each; tamale. chile rellano, enchilada, taco, and tostado. These are not miniatures! Takes two plates to serve it. Vaca Santa (Holy Cow)! Each entree is excellent, but a go box will be needed. As mentioned, everything we've tried is very good, which makes me a fan of this establishment. Highly recommended for Mexican food in Wichita.

Decided to eat there again. Had bugs flying around. Mentioned to waitress and she acknowledge the bugs and kind of just said she didn't know what was going on.

I don't usually leave reviews but I felt I needed to on this place.Let's get into it..Ordered 2 shrimp tacos and 2 orders of the cheese dip to go.The only good thing was the cheese dip. However my issue is, I've never been to a restaurant and ordered the cheese dip and had to pay extra for chips. You order cheese dip and it automatically comes with chips. Well not this place. So that was an issue for me.The shrimp tacos were a joke. There were 2 shrimp and about a pound of lettuce on my tacos. I asked for no tomato or sour cream, however no cheese was on them either. I specifically asked if cheese was on the tacos and was told yes. So again shrimp tacos were literally lettuce and and tortilla with 2 shrimp.

I had the Enchilada Deluxe, which consisted of 4 enchiladas. One chicken, one beef, one bean, and one cheese. The chicken enchilada did not have any flavor. The beef was good, but I could not tell the difference between the bean and cheese as far as flavor goes.

This is where our family goes for Mexican food often. We can order the same things we get at the other restaurants but our final bill is half the price! Their chips are always warm and fresh, never stale. We always get a bowl of their queso because it's really good- smooth & creamy. My husband likes their fajita beef burrito or fajita beef salad. My kids like their enchiladas. Sometimes I order a side of enchilada sauce "to go" & then use it to make enchiladas at home. Then my recipe has that authentic Mexican flavor that I just can't seem to copy on my own. Great food, very good prices, clean & friendly svc too. Never a wait for a table!!

My fave restaurant for refried beans tostados with no dairy. Add their homemade salsa and it’s delicious!

The ribeye was the best tasting steak I've had around. It had real flavor.

We have ordered take out/delivery twice in the last 2 Weeks and both times we don't get our cheese dip. This is so frustrating.

I really like this place anytime I'm in the Wichita area. My favorite thing is their salsa. Oh man it is good! I don't really have a meal that specifically stands out but their salsa really puts them over the top for me.
