I stopped in FYRE on a hot summer’s day because I thought I was on fire and I needed a cool drink and fast! The owner hooked me up with an icy iced tea that did the trick. She told me all about the different items on the menu and let me cool down...If I hadn’t already eaten, I would have tried almost everything because it smelled so good! Not only that, but she was even sweet enough to recommend a couple of her competitors in the area. As one of my KC buddies would say...FYRE was fire!!!

She didn't seem enthusiastic about serving me, no optimism at all, I ask for okra instead of fries. She said shell do it and I ended up with fries especially waiting 20 mins for my food. The food had no kind of flavor. No wonder their not packed

I got 3 carry out lunches, from the time I ordered til the time I walked out with food it was 45 minutes. The woman that took my order was very polite. Chicken wings were tasty, Mac and cheese was bland according to my two co-workers. Green beans were also bland and tasted like they were fresh from the can. The beans had some season salt/Cajun spice on them sprinkled on top, but NO flavor throughout. Chicken tenders were also tasty, fries were okay too. I received bread with every order, one of my slices was the heel . Owner lady was polite, kids working with her acted indifferent and confused about filling orders, giving out condiments etc. I was very excited to try some southern/soul style cooking her in Kansas. The chicken was good, but as far as side dishes, I'll keep looking.

My first experience with this establishment was the day before last wing apolloza and they were out of product, which I understand. Today, ... they were STILL out of product and the plates they were able to make were skimpy, The frier oil was way over used., The mashed potatoes and supposed gravy was not up to par. The total I paid, was not matching the quality that I guess I expected.
Fantastic food! Husband had blackened catfish with mashed potatoes and gravy...GREAT! I had fried catfish and wings with fried okra...AWESOME!! Some reviews comment on the decor and yes, it could be better. We were visiting the Wichita area and like to try local places, not the chain restaurants. Soooo glad we stopped into Fyre! Wish we were here longer to go again.

Came from out of town to try some old fashioned home cooking, BUT....it took over an hour to get our food, it was overpriced, no flavor to the chicken fried chicken, it was dry, the mashed potatoes were barely seasoned, the green beans container was date marked 4/20/19, but was warmed up on 4/23/19 (heard the microwave going), they were bland w no seasoning, the gravy was 2 different colors; different color of gravy for the chicken fried chicken and different color of gravy for the mashed potatoes, strawberry lemonade was bitter and clearly made from a powder because you could see all the sentiment at the bottom of the cup, the sweet tea wasn't sweet and it was clear and they ran out of ice, mac and cheese noodles were tough and the cheese sauce was watered down, w no taste of butter milk or real cheese, okra was overcooked fried chicken was tasteless and slightly. Cost us over $50 for 4 dinners and 90% of it was not edible. Never, ever, again.

This hole in the wall makes all of their food fresh! Their burgers, fries, fried chicken, and mac and cheese were all delicious! I'm excited to be back soon to try their new buffet! I hope to see it continue to grow!
