After a long, chaotic, and hectic day at work I decided to take my kids out to eat. We’re new to Wichita and always been wanting to give this place a try. We found the restaurant surprisingly quiet for a Friday evening. Well, that changed real quick as this out of nowhere gentleman holding an acoustic guitar proceeds to approach our table. In a matter of minutes he starts (very loudly) telling me his private and very personal life in front of my kids, (both minors). I was speechless. He then starts singing without being asked. At this point we’re still waiting for our food (which we were not very impressed with btw), but we’re snacking on our chips and salsa. We could clearly see this gentleman’s saliva’s droplets traveling at light speed out of his mouth landing on our table and food. Needless to say, we stopped eating those chips and salsa. First song ends, we clapped and gave him thanks. Second song, my kids start giving me hints to ask him to stop. Third song comes and I’m getting a little irritated. Our food arrives (in a very timely manner) so I politely tell him we would like to enjoy our meal as a family. He leaves, goes to a different table. It’s a table of three females. He sang for them. They gave him money. He took their money. He then comes back to our table so I (again and politely) tell him we’re hungry and trying to enjoy our meal. I told him I had no cash for him. He says he holds a construction job where he makes a decent living and that he doesn’t do it for money as it’s just a hobby of his. He leaves, to our great relief I should add. At least that’s what we thought lol! As we start grabbing our personal belongings so we can wrap it up, we notice he’s been waiting in the back of the restaurant for us. I start to get a bit concerned. I apologized for not having cash on me for him so he follows us to the parking lot as I ignore him. He then gives me his phone number saying he can do all kinds of household repairs in case I ever need help with anything. He was harmless. But without sounding prudish, I could say he definitely ruined our experience at Las Islas Marías so we won’t be coming back anytime soon, not when this gentleman can allegedly be found at that restaurant every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday according to his own words. To our server Rebeca, thank you so much for kindly taking care of us. You’re an amazing asset to that place!

I ordered a large shrimp ceviche to go and when I got home to eat it I was in for a surprise. The portion size was good but the actual shrimp was 100% raw! I was very surprised and confused? I'm not sure if they understand the process of making ceviche? anyways I had to soak the raw shrimp in my own spices/lemon and lime juice and had some good ceviche the next day. I realized that this isn't the only place that does this kinda thing. Marisco Cheli on Broadway also does it.

This was my first order here and unfortunately it will also be my last. It was an order for delivery by Uber eats. I ordered the seafood pasta and the 7 seas soup. With only two items it seem almost inconceivable that they woul forget one. The seven seas soup was the item missing and the one I most looked forward to trying. I was very preturbed that neither Uber eats or Las Islas Marias called to explain why the soup was missing. The seafood pasta that did arrive was cold and the Alfredo sauce was thick and except for the muscles the rest of the seafood was not fresh but frozen. The shrimp was especially bad. They were tiny and rubbery. Even the garlic toast was bad. It was soaked with butter and way over garlicky. The total for this simple meal was over $52.00 and could have been much better spent.

Food here is pretty good. Honestly prob not my favorite go to place for Mexican but still a good option. Everything seems to be seafood themed. Although they do have traditional things as well such as fajitas etc. our waitress was really sweet. Located in the twin lakes shopping plaza across from the Starbucks.

Decided to give this place a try since I was craving seafood and the seafood restaurant my husband and I usually go to is 20 minutes away. I ended up getting take out - food was ok, the portion and prices are RIDICULOUS! I paid $14 for a "medium" size shrimp cocktail which clearly is a small cup, it couldn't even fill up a normal sized bowl! I also got aguachiles for $20 and well, the picture shows no justice on how little bit they gave me and somehow the total ended up being almost $37! Had I known the prices were high star restaurant prices and food was your typical ehh, I would not have bought anything but unfortunately I had sent in my little sister to pick up the food. From here on out I will continue to drive 20 minutes to get delicious affordable seafood!

This place is a hidden gem. It is located in Twin Lakes on Amidon. Super friendly and love the authenticity of the food . Some cultural places lack that.

Too pricey. Auto tip is added for party of 4 adults. I understand 6 or more but not 4.
