Looking for a neighborhood place to grab some great food at a very reasonable price? I was amazed by their Rueban. Ill definitely be back. Had a nice relaxed old school atmosphere too.
So to be clear, I have lived in this area practically my whole life, and my father would go to Merle’s and I’d basically beg him to bring me a Ruben as a child all growing up.
As an adult, I can tell you that it’s just such a chill nice place and the food is literally killer. It’s simple, but what they do is done right. I think that these places need to be recognized for having the consistency over 30+ years.

This delightful neighborhood joint has bedn in operation for 90 years. A tiny kitchen puts out pretty darn good sandwiches. The beer is ice cold and some say the pour is very generous in the whiskey glasses. Great old time decor. Folks are loyal to Merle's and friendly with strangers.
