Wife and I came in to the new location and read the “seat yourself” sign, sat down and waited for 20 min. Someone came in after me and waited up at the cash register for over 15 min, waiter never acknowledged me to say hi or order at the register just ignored both of us. She did walk past me a few times and had plenty of opportunity to tell me to order at the register. Finally she took the order of the person standing at the register but by that point there was a couple people in line so I gave up and went somewhere else. Disappointed at the lack of customer service and how slow they are.

Nuway is the best there is, ever was or ever will be. Best root beer hands down. Crumbly burgers , the jingle is spot on, you're gonna love a nuway .

If I move away from Wichita, it would be the first food I would want when I came to town.

If you have never had a scramble burger you have not had a burger. This unique way of preparing a hamburger is awesome. It is simple and a delight to your tastebuds. The decor is just like the “old school” soda shop of the 50’s and 60’s. The on-site made root beer can’t be beat. The decor coupled with the food is just a fun and relaxing experience. If in the area this is a must stop.

My husband's favorite place to eat in Wichita. A special taste to enjoy. The fries are delicious.

Some things change, and some things don't. As I was kicking around the area in which I grew up, I was struck by how much everything had changed. Sure, time won't stand still, and things move forward or wither on the vine, but it's nice to find something that feels the same way that it did all those years ago. Nu-Way is that kind of anachronism. The crumbly burger is still done the same way it was done way back in its opening days nearly century ago. For the uninitiated, the Midwest offers a different kind of take on a burger sandwich, frequently found in places such as Iowa & Minnesota. A crumbly burger is just what it sounds like; think sloppy Joe without the tomato sauce. Add in onions, pickle, mustard, and cheese, and you have yourself a Nu-Way. Sure, you can get an amazing burger in a zillion places, but Nu-Way gets my stars because it never goes out of its style. If you want flame-broiled Wagyu beef, then look elsewhere. If you want a crumbly burger, sidled up against curly fries or hand-dipped onion rings, washed down with root beer made on site, then Nu-Way is your place. Maybe your palate aims differently, but Nu-Way delivers a great flavor. Pricing isn't bad and value is absolutely there, and if you are dining in and find your root beer mug empty, then ask for a refill and drain that as well. Nu-Way started this offering in the 1930s and they're still delivering the goods, so if you have that yen or curiosity, give it a try.

Good ole fashion Root Beer and loose meat burgers! Oh yeah, great onion rings too!

Not enough food for the money & the burger was bland like they don't use seasoning. Probably my favorite thing about Nuway is the root beer floats & fries but never been much for the meat they use on the crumbly burger.

Went to nuway for the first time in a long time. Server was nice, but we watched the cook put our food in the microwave. the only thing we saw actually cooked was the fries. we got up and left.

Ever since they moved to their new location, the service of the wait staff is terrible. So slow and always at least one employee short. They don't bus the tables or give you a ticket. People were stacking the previous diner's trash on the bar counter so they could sit down. Shameful! This was my last time to visit this place.

We went to the Central and Ridge location yesterday. The young man at the register was super polite and nice. The manager was also. They were very helpful. The teamwork and care for their customers that they displayed was awesome! Of course, the food was hot, fresh, and delicious as always! Thank you!

Went to NuWay on E Central. Saw that they had a Sign for Taco Salad or Chili Wednesday for 2.99. So I ordered. Clerk said that would 4 something. Well 2.99 plus tax shouldn’t be 4 something. Asked about his special for 2.99 said I could get that if I purchased a drink. Did not have my glasses on and there was fine print on the sign. Didnt really want a drink so asked about fries instead. Was told no, so got a rootbeer. Bill totaled for 5.14 plus added a 1.00 tip. This is what I got for 6.14 a drink and a cup of chili that is not even the size of a coffee cup. Went on line and found there are 4 sizes of chili and I could have gotten one of those with no drink. Called the store back and he did ask me to return to the store, but I was already home. Said there was nothing else he could do. Called the corporate number and got voice mail, this is not the NuWay that I recalled going to and loved. I guess good customer service is a thing of the past for NuWay too! They have lost my business.

Great crumbly burger! The root bear was delicious and the service was great. Great lunch spot.

First visit to a Nuway. Interesting concept of loose meat burger. Unfortunately the meat has no seasoning or flavor. Now the onion rings are amazing and very good homemade root beer.

Simplistic diner aesthetics with simple food. That's not to say it's boring in what it serves; Fries are hot and crispy, burgers are a crumbly beef burger with no useless frills. It's a place where you go when you're hankering for a good root beer, hot crispy fries, and a burger that will take away your hunger without too much pinch on your wallet. If you have a beard like me, use the fork they give you.
