Edit: this location closed as of Friday 12/8! I think of Pei Wei as the PF Chang's cafe, the fast food version. Line ordering, food brought to the table OR carryout for enjoyment at home. Staff is polite and busy, they seem to always be moving. This location is closing Friday 12/8, not sure why as it's always busy here.
That was THE WORST Pei Wei's meal I have ever eaten. Ever single dish was dry with almost no sauce or flavor and with rubbery meat. The soup was straight salt, I actually had to spit it out, it was not edible. They gave us egg rolls instead of the Vietnamese lettuce wraps we had ordered because they were gluten free (unlike egg rolls) so those couldn't be eaten. Every single item was nasty and the store was running late so we had to wait 30 minutes for the food even though we ordered ahead online. Such a terrible, terrible experience. The workers seemed like we were inconveniencing them by showing up and buying food. Seriously, don't go to this Pei Wei's. EVER. And yes, I already reviewed this on your website.
Wasn't terrible. We hadn't eaten there for about six months. Wasn't as good as I remember. I thought the lettuce wraps were an appetizer, but they came out after all of us received our meals. The girl bringing the food out to customers did not want to be there. She looked like she had just crawled out of bed, and looked high. The pea pods are never completely cooked, either is the broccoli. She brought out our edamame and later brought out the salt for it. There are other places that serve better food. No need to go back.
Even though some employees knew about allergies, they seemed unsure on what to do in this kind of situation. They seem to need more training on this. If you are a traveler passing through and have this issue, I would be careful explaining it to them. After a few times of informing them, they eventually understood and we could eat our meal. Even so, the chicken tasted smoky, the pea pods were not cooked, the mushrooms were not cooked and our rice was not fresh and was cold. The soda was good. Overall, the place seems to appeal to a younger generation of people. Even so, comparable restaurants like HuHot and PF Chang's have better food that is cooked and doesn't taste like smoke.
Love Pei Wei. Delicious food, lots of healthy options and beautiful presentation for such a casual eatery. My food looks just like the pictures. I also like that when I ask for a water cup I get a full sized cup. It may be a little on the pricey side, but the servings are large enough that I can make at least 2 if not 3 meals from my order if I need to.
