The three stars is for the service from one bartender. This was my first time coming here. I was excited to try the Cedar Waxwing, but I left feeling unwelcome by the tall bartender. The other bartender who I paid was sweet and welcoming though. The jalapeño ranch I asked for on the side was delicious.

One of a kind sandwiches! So flavorful and fresh tasting. If you go, ask for Liv to serve you. She's the best and gives you a hometown hospitality experience!

Red Bird is more than a sandwich company it’s an entire experience. Their unique sandwiches, sides, homemade sauces, and drinks are all incredible. We have tried numerous sandwiches and loved them all. We have tried multiple sides and like the potato salad a lot, but we cannot break free of those wedge fries. Out of this world food. I will say it would be very easy to split a sandwich and sides because the sandwiches are plenty big. The drink specials are always a treat. The Oriole and the Owl are two faves.

8/20/2025: had to come back for an update. The Bobwhite is hands down the best sandwich on the menu.

7/3/2025: Been eyeing Red Bird on social media for a while and had the opportunity to stop by for an early dinner and drinks. They have a wonderful patio that I’ll be back to enjoy. At 4pm on a Wednesday, three or four tables of guests were enjoying happy hour drink specials. The drink menu is full of all your favorites and more. The French 75 was light, crisp and refreshing. I love a good Mule, and it was everything you’d expect in a mule. Onto the appetizers, the smoked artichoke dip with pork. What an interesting and delicious combo! We ate it so fast I didn’t get a photo. I could have had 10 pounds of that focaccia bread. We enjoyed the Magpie (chicken salad) and Great Blue Heron (massive fried chicken breast in garlic buffalo sauce) with potato salad. We salivated over every bite. Get yourself to Red Bird. I know I’ll be back soon.

The service I received when placing my to-go order was great! I didn't catch the girl's name, she was the bartender. However, the food left a lot to be desired. The soup as an add on for $4.50 was literally a cup by volume and very salty. The Great Blue Heron sandwich was a good value for the size, but the breading on the chicken was VERY salty, I ended up throwing half of it away.

People have been glazing this place for some good reasons. Vibe is fun and food is very well cooked and fresh. Inside is always a fun vibe. Staff is super friendly. Falls short for me, unfortunately.

Biggest downside: heavily underseasoned food. Imagine biting into a crispy chicken or potato and being greeted with just flavorless breading and unseasoned chicken. Same with their burger patties having a gorgeous sear and then no bite or flavor to them. Would be fine if I wasn't paying $15+ for a sandwich/burger. I can get one full of flavor for less than half the price at Culvers or Freddy's. Been here a few separate times thinking it was just a one off thing, but seems a theme of executing the cook and failing in providing rounded and robust flavor, especially for the price. Putting down a thin layer of sauce and/or pepper flakes after the cook doesn't cut through especially when a lot of residual grease is there. Would love to see them incorporate seasoning in their meats or batter before the cook. I ain't asking for a ton of salt but something to bring out the flavor of some obviously experienced cooks given their actual ingredients and technique are quality.

Haven't tried their drinks, for what it's worth. Maybe that ends up being a counterbalance to the food. Not sure I'll give another try soon given my personal cost vs flavor profile, but glad I went to check it out.
