Veracruz Mexican Grill

We were seated and served quickly. The food was tasty. Our server was attentive and pleasant. The food tasted fresh. I received, upon request, a sampling of two sauces (I'd only asked for a hot or green salsa.).

Love the food. More people need to come here! I appreciate the holiday decorations they put up.

My experience at this restaurant was great. The fajitas have a lot of flavor and are very rich and varied. The hanging pineapples are the best I've ever tried.The staff is very friendly and the chef is very charismatic and has great experience in the kitchen. The chips are the best in the area because they taste like the flavor of my homeland.I highly recommend this restaurant

Everyone that works here is amazing and makes the best framing salsas. The owner is especially awesome, at least who I believe is the owner lol. I've had almost every type of dish on their menu and I always go back to the street tacos. Particularly the barbacoa tacos which are divine. Juicy, flavorful, and absolutely stocked with meat. My partner loves the shrimp quesadilla as well so there's that. My first experience was late night fajitas as takeout and I feel like the container weighed 2 pounds from the meat, I couldn't finish it and that's saying something if you've seen all my other reviews. I'd be remiss to not also make note that the chips here taste and feel homemade but I don't know if they are. Either way they're perfect chips and I can't recommend this place enough. Ask for the habanero salsa, it's perfection!

I ordered the Veracruz salad and 2 tacos with ground beef and had it delivered by Uber eats. I have been to the restaurant many times and it was delicious when I ate there. This order though the salad only had shredded lettuce but was also supposed to have a spring mix and it had way too much cactus. My tacos the meat was hard and overcooked and the shells soggy. My salad was also soggy and I didn't get the dressing I ordered. The shredded lettuce I did get was just full of liquid. I expected so much better because my food when dining in was always wonderful. Sorry but the delivery was a total fail and I was very upset and disappointed with this restaurant. You may not want to order these items to have delivered.

Food and drinks are good. Chips guacamole are fantastic

We love Veracruz! We have been going to the Price Hill location for years and were super excited when the location in Alexandria opened. The food is unique and consistent. We also enjoy the staff and have been noticing the improvements to the space and the decor. Don’t come here and expect it to be like another run of the mill chain Mexican restaurant.

Veracruz Mexican Grill in Alexandria has absolutely the most authentic tasting Mexican food around. Their chips are made in house and the salsa and guacamole are delicious. The daily happy hour offer half price drafts and margaritas! The Portion sizes are large and plentiful.

My little family of four came in 12/31 and were sorely disappointed. Our waitress said you were out of sprite and didn’t carry lemonade… so we had no choice but to pay $6 for two small cups of milk for our kids.

A party of about 8 came in shortly after us, they got exceptional service. Extra chips, refills, food came first somehow even though we were sat first and ordered first

We ordered our food and our kids came first, cold like it had been sitting for a while. Probably bc she focused solely on the big party… We didn’t get one refill offer, or checked on after our food came.

I sat there waiting for 15-20 minutes AFTER we ate and she never came back. I asked a younger waiter if he could grab my check for us and told him our service sucked. He didn’t come back either.

I had to walk up to the stand and pay. I didn’t tip… why should I? This was the worst experience I’ve had. You and 6 tables MAYBE and our food was cold, service sucked and no apology for it either even after complaining

We won’t be back.

Went here for the first time on a Saturday for dinner and it did not disappoint. Great food, great atmosphere, and even better service from our waitress. Definitely think this is a hidden gem, hopefully more people give it a try and we can keep this restaurant going in Alexandria! Looking forward to our next visit!

Everything is always great when we go! Crazy that it’s not more busy. Love their burritos and quesadillas!
