I have loved Popeye’s chicken for many years but unfortunately the closest one to me is in Lexington. I was very excited when the Berea location opened. My first visit was just a few weeks after the restaurant opened which was ample time to get the kinks worked out. The chicken was cold and hard which contributed to a very unpleasant visit. I ended up throwing about half of my meal away because it was so unappetizing. I just happened to be in Berea last week and decided it was time to try that location again. I ordered two spicy tender meals for my wife and me. While the chicken was somewhat better this time, it was still not hot and appetizing as it should be. It was nowhere near the quality of any of the other Popeye’s that I have visited during my travels. I was there during what I would consider the supper rush period but the restaurant was empty, which probably should have told me something. I may return to the Berea location again but it is highly unlikely. I used to go around singing the jingle, love that chicken from Popeye’s, but no more.

They should be ashamed of their selves for raising prices that high cause its at truck stop. Paid 16 bucks for a 6 wing combo with one side.
Got all of my orders wrong , waited for 30+ mins, got everyone else’s order wrong after me, tried to tell me I never said what I ordered, overall bad service…

Food was good but my daughter's mac n cheese was burnt, I had to ask for another one.. and it was kinda pricey for the chicken tenders. Bomb red beans and rice! The building is new and has a good clean feeling to it. The sweet tea wasn't even sweet, so I was a little disappointed.

The biscuits were fresh, with just the right amount of butter on them. The chicken was hot and juicy, and the oil was fresh oil. It was a really really good experience.
