Overall, not bad food but not great either. Buffet is consistent in quality and I love happening upon their fried chicken days. The fried fish is also good. Love the banana pudding! Like most KY state parks, there's a very run down feel to the entire lodge and rooms. See many better days I'm afraid.

Ate the buffet and greens beans have no taste, catfish didn't taste nothing like catfish, chicken dumplings were soso, cornbread muffins dry tasteless, corn was ok, mashed potatoes and white gravy were ok too. Nothing was good enough to return.

It is just a buffet that caters towards senior citizens in that it is mainly fried foods. Service was good. I was charged $8.50 for a salad bar for one salad. It's not worth buying the complimentary breakfast through Butler's Resort. Just not enough options for dietary restrictions. Atmosphere was comparable to a conference catering service, as the restaurant is about a mile from the resort in the conference hall. Not worth the money. I would, however, highly recommend the Mexican restaurant right down the road called Mi Viejo!

So, they're not shut down, they're temporarily located in the Conference Center building. I was there today for lunch for the first time, and I think I would have missed it except a friend with me had been before.Service was incredibly friendly. I'm not a fan of buffets, but the food was really quite good. I've recently changed my eating habits and this place was making me wish I hadn't. Fried fish, pork chops, mashed potatoes, fried zucchini, a fantastic salad bar, and the desserts looked wonderful. For $12 I don't think it could be beaten.

A drive through the country for a Sunday morning breakfast resulted in a fail. The restaurant has been moved to the conference center AND breakfast is served 7-9am only with a two-hour break until lunch. Ridiculous! So the hours on TripAdvisor are wrong, as well as in the website.

We had a gathering of 25. Very accommodating. Let us use the adjoining room. Senior buffet was excellent. Jinkie was our server . She kept our drinks full. Very friendly. Annie was fast at checkout.Parking: If you park around back, there are no steps. Drive up to the door.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get in. No ramps or steps to worry with

Excellent food, great service, and amazing atmosphere. The lodge and dining room at General Butler park are beautiful and overlook the Kentucky River.

We just had the buffet lunch at General Butler and it was so good! The hot food was hot and so good with several hot veggie dishes . We had a delicious pork chop and meatball casserole. The salad bar had a wide variety of items. Our waitress Virginia was so nice and helpful. It was a very enjoyable lunch! But do call for days and times, because they may only be open for lunch during the winter months. They will have a big Thanksgiving buffet!

Compliments to the chef. The buffet was great. The meatloaf and catfish was perfect. Everything was.

I ate there for lunch two days. The buffet was really good both days. Lots of variety, fresh salads, and loads of food. Funny enough, the soups were the best things each day. They surprised me at how good they were. Great thing is, the buffet price is a great deal. Roughly priced cheaper than ordering off the menu. However, if you do order off the menu, get the Hit Brown. It's incredible!
