My husband and myself love Buoys we don't live locally and its very convenient if we get there later in the evening to stop in for a bite to eat. It's a lake restaurant people, and one of only few near Wax marina I have enjoyed almost everything I have gotten here, they serve alcohol and are lake front, plenty of marking as there in a huge lot for the marina right there as well. The owner is super nice, while service can be spotty at times in the summer they are very busy on the weekends I'd rather see a locally owned and operated business do well even if that means waiting a little longer for my food or beverage. If youve given it a try and didn't like it try again, and if you havent tried it don't let some of the negative reviews turn you away.

Not enough parking @ all! Way out in the sticks! Nice karaoke environment, but it's over by the time you sing. 3 hours...7pm to 10pm. HUH!?!

Stop off at Buoys for some great bar food and a cold drink! Everything we got was pretty good tasting. Nothing here is overly fancy, but it all tastes great. Service has been hit or miss but seems to be getting better as the restaurant has been open longer. Views of the lake and marina make for a laid back feel. I highly recommend!

Had a great experience from good service to delicious cod fish sandwich and my partner getting the catfish, lightly breaded crispy and yummy. I know folks have had some issues from reading reviews however I really want this place to succeed! We are locals just moved from Louisville and need this great little place! I hope we can be patient as I know the owner has had difficulty in finding employees so I’m standing with her and giving her my support!

We use to love getting a bite to eat here, but unfortunately since the renovation it has gone severely downhill. They lost a bunch of seating, no longer entertain on the side patio, and obviously have some serious plumbing issues since the entire entrance area inside smelled like sewer. Service has also declined significantly - and it definitely is unfortunately. We had a large party but were willing to split between tables - and were quoted a 2.5 hr wait when no one was in the waiting area. We then watched a party with one less person than ours come in and they were told they could seat them right away - while we were standing right there. We were then told we couldn’t do a to go order - like others have posted. We opted for the all you can eat catfish buffet - and then told we couldn’t get more than one plate. We were told we could get drinks on the patio but that was it - but when a server never asked us our drink order and we complained - we were then told they never said that. Except a table next to us was able to get a full service server at their table. The owner was beyond rude when we voiced our concerns and grievances with our experience… I could go on and on. It really is a shame because we use to like this place - but I will recommend to everyone who will listen not waste your time or money (super pricey) for the service you will get. Just go to the Marina for a bite to eat.

Would not let us order a to go pizza. We left hungry. We had been on boat and were not dressed for dining in. We were going to eat outside.
Great food and service. Love the new addition. We gave stayed in their rooms several times and they are nice and clean

Walkability: Walk down to the boat ramp and around the park they have on site. They have concerts and karaoke ? on certain occasions but in all the food and view is great!

Food & drinks: Oh my oh my... the Catfish is AMAZING! The hush puppies are great! Rounded out the meal with breaded mushrooms, a side salad and cottage cheese, all of which were just fantastic. I can't express just how good this meal was. A+ or a 10 out of 10. Friendly waitstaff and fair prices with a great view of the lake.
