Barleycorn's Cold Spring

One of my favorite restaurants

Waited over 40 minutes from the time we ordered and still did not even have our appetizer and had only seen the server twice. We watched people who arrived later than us getting their food. We cancelled our order and left. Why the 5 stars? The manager came out to speak to us and was exceptional. He acknowledged the problem and was sincerely apologetic and professional in talking to us about the matter. We left with no intention to ever return but was so impressed by this manager's concern about making it right and encouraging us to give them another chance in the future, we ultimately decided we will return. It is obvious through this manager's actions that customer service is important to them. Chalking this one up to one isolated experience. KUDOS to the manager!

worst fish I ever had. so over cooked it was awful. sweet potato fries were also so over cooked they were tasteless. Will not go back

We had a group of 12 for dinner. Although it was very noisy due to a highlands event, everything else was great! Everyone thought the food was good and we had superior service from Ella. She got everything out at one time and was very friendly and courteous.

My kids and I love the food. But the service sucks. No one comes to check you to fill drinks. I feel abandoned by the wait staff once we are seated and have our initial and usually 1 drink.

Haven't been to a Barleycorn's in years. The food was very good and the portions were great. The service was very good and atmosphere was light and pleasant. We'll have to get back sooner.

Most of the takeout order was alright, especially the excellent dockside wings (even cold). However, they replaced the berry salad's mixed greens with iceberg lettuce, effectively ruining it for my wife. The subsequent crying and discarded salad made me feel cheated and soured Barleycorns for me.

I have never had barleycorns and I was severely disappointed. My wings had barely any sauce on them, my husbands Mac and cheese had like no cheese sauce, their kids pizza looked like a frozen microwave pizza lol my kid wouldn’t even eat it. Our waitress was pretty absent, checked in like 2 times and I had to ask another waitress for a box and our check. $55 for subpar food and horrible service. Heck another waitress even refilled my son’s lemonade lol.

Definitely not worth the money or drive to go there.

We haven't been in for a long while the beer is always cold, but the wings are terrible. we love hot wings, but they douse them with cayenne pepper, and they have no flavor.
