I've heard this place was awesome so we finally tried it out for my son's birthday. Service was very good. The food was average. We tried the crab cakes for an appetizer...meh. My son loves seafood and he was not impressed. I had the steak and it was so average for the price. I've had way better steaks at Outback. At least we can check it off our list now.

This is the best Cajun food I've had outside of New Orleans. It's definitely a bit pricey, but the service is fantastic and the food is phenomenal. Great overall atmosphere as well.

The food quality of the food was very disappointing.
Never claimed to be a chef but I'm pretty sure I could do better.
For what they charge for a meal I have no idea how they stay in business. I for one will never return.

The absolute best service we've had in a LONG time!!! The entire staff was on point from beginning to end. The food was top-notch and was so incredibly thankful for the staff recommendations. Seriously, one of the best meals we've ever had.

Overall it's something to try, but not sure I'll be back for awhile.
I'm really on the fence how I feel about this place. They appear to operate and want to be a high end restraint. Albeit the decor is best described as whacky. Water glasses are plastic, the sauces come in disposable plastic bins and prices are quite high.
For a cocktail I had the "Fashionable." A riff on an old fashion with cherry juice. It was served in a martini glass straight up with sugared rim. It's pretty far from an old fashion that is a pretty strong drink for people who enjoy it. Instead this was super sweet and way too much cherry juice.
For appetizers we had crab cake ls and stuffed jalepenos. Both were really good and prepared well. Only thing I didn't enjoy was that the peppers were served with cocktail sauce and was not really the best flavor combo.
For dinner we split the sampler and the bowl of etouffee. For the sample to rank the meats the shrimp were the best, then chicken then steak. The steak had no texture and lack of seasoning. The chicken was well seasoned, well prepared and moist. The shrimp was really good but it only had a few. The etouffee was good, luckily I had baguette bread from the table to eat with it. The bread was just baked and flavorless. Would be nice to have them toast it and have some kind of seasoned whipped butter instead of the little butter plastic one serving cups. There was a massive bay leaf in it which I had to push out of the way and the garnish on top of it was banana peppers. The peppers were dry and like rubber.
Water glass was never kept full. Had to keep asking to have it filled.
They cleaned the table next to us with some kind of bleach spray that made us want to throw up. They need to figure this out as it's enough to have me not recommend it to anyone and never come back.
For the price and the promise of an upscale restaurant, it could be better.

Definitely will go again.
Parking: There are many places to park. I can see it getting crowded on certain nights.

I was hesitant to go because off all the negative reviews but gave it a shot & am glad we went.
The food was very good, served promply & with a smile. We got the Cajun sampler & crab cakes. The crab cakes were fantastic!! The sampler was good. I lived for some years in Southern MS so know Cajun food well. While this doesn't stand up to some of the best Cajun food I've had, it was still good & very respectable for rural KY.

I found the Knotty Pine online. Prices, seemed reasonable, once there the menu prices were higher.

Three stars only because of the service. I ordered a "Surf n Turf" at market price, cooked Cajun style. My wife also ordered a market-price meal. My steak was cooked to the proper temperature, but that was about it. Our appetizer had more flavor than both of our meals combined. It tasted like I had caught a lobster, butchered a cow, and put the meat on my plate. We paid $150 for two people and could have gotten the same food at Red Lobster.

A hole in the wall or as others like to call it a hidden gem ?! This place is amazing, I ordered the scallops (which were not on their menu but a daily special) and it did not disappoint. I also had a chance to try their spicy shrimp pasta and oh my god the shrimp tasted like buffalo sauce combined with lemons ? it was absolutely delicious, they warned you it might be very spicy but I didn’t think so. Everything else was also amazing, the potatoes A MUST, their salads, the bread ? I will definitely be coming back!
