Stopped in over the weekend. My family and I were out of town for a little vaycay. This place seemed like our vibe so we went. It’s a little over priced. But we did enjoy the sausage truffle pizza. They have pet friendly out door seating which is pretty cool.

Great Food and great service. What a wonderful relief. Reasonable prices. I would eat there again. Hope I am back in town soon. Easy walk from Embassy suites.

I can only comment on the service, cleanliness, and atmosphere because we walked out instead of eating here. My parents were visiting and we were walking Roebling Point and the bridge, and decided to try this for a late lunch. It was Labor Day Monday, beautiful outside, a Reds game was starting soon, and the place was mostly full so we thought it couldn't be half bad. When we walked in, there was a sign saying seat yourself, but there was also a hostess/server at the entrance so we asked about open tables and whether inside vs. outside mattered for service. She said when you find a table they'll be right with us. We walked around the restaurant. Two tables outside and 5-6 inside were not occupied. All covered in dirty dishes, food scraps, and drinks. Servers and kitchen staff we walking by, no one was bussing any of the tables. I went back to the server up front and asked if I could pick out a table for them to clean so we could sit down. She said once we sit at a table someone will eventually come by and clean it. This attitude really irritated me. I've worked in restaurants when I was younger and been to so many cheap dive bars where the bartenders promptly clean off bar space or tables when asked. I didn't want to deal with potentially poor/slow service and substandard food after that interaction, so we left to get takeout somewhere else.

The best pizza in the area hands down. The bartender was great and the pizza artist was fantastic! Will definitely be back!

Stopped here for lunch because I wanted to get as close to the river as possible, there isn’t a view of it from here but it’s the perfect location to walk off a few ciders and calories. The atmosphere was great and I lOVED the country boy cider that was recommended by one of the staff (I’m not a beer drinker). I had a couple appetizers pickle fries and the salmon plate, I wasn’t impressed by the salmon plate but those were thee best fried pickles I’ve had in my life… so far lol

Overall I highly recommend stopping by for lunch (more casual setting) the pizzas looked delicious and the staff was very helpful and professional.

The Gruff is a staple in our home. We’ve eaten here so many times I can’t keep track. It’s because the do their menu very well. Their salads are bomb, the burgers are very good, I just had a meatball sandwich that was great, their Cuban sandwich is also really good. They just do their menu well, you’re not gonna pick wrong. Their pizzas are made in a huge pizza kiln too, thin crusts, and tasty. Very kid friendly place, good beer selection, staff is always friendly, can buy 6-packs to go as well. Parking is the only tricky thing to this place if it’s busy, but it does have a small lot behind the restaurant.

Parking: Small parking lot in back of store. If that’s full, will likely have to street park a few blocks away.

Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly. Ate here with a 2y/o and a 3y/o and they had high-chairs, toys, and understanding staff.
