Overall, this place was wonderful, but what a way to make a guest leave with a sour taste in their mouth. The idea of having a bartender claim to your face that you left a tip when you didn't is absurd. No, if I didn't physically leave the tip myself, you don't get to decide. Bar lead Colin, your choice of words and actions towards me as a paying guest were not acceptable in a business setting. When you lead any type of service, it's about the service, not your own personal feelings. You kicked me out of the bar over words. So unprofessional. If someone can assist me with gathering the footage of me signing off on a $10 tip, which to the best of my knowledge I didn't agree to, I'd greatly appreciate it. It doesn't matter that the if the tip was refunded. I don't appreciate having false claims being made againt me. I genuinely hope people keep coming here because the food is great and this is a bar with massive potential.

Our first time here so we didn’t know exactly what we were ordering. But Zac helped us with any misunderstanding about what we were ordering. Many Japanese beers on tap and in the can form , domestic and beautiful cocktails that are quite unique. Gourmet pizza options that they changed up to meet our taste. Perfectly comfortable environment. Cozy and outdoor seating with the weather getting warmer a sure to return venue !
Thanks to the wonderful experience Zac and staff for making it awesome

I was really looking forward to trying Tokyo Pie, but unfortunately my experience was somewhat disappointing.
The restaurant operates as self-service, which is totally fine — but we were “greeted” from the opposite end of the bar. The bartender yelled directions from the opposite end of the restaurant, which felt awkward and unwelcoming. There was also a minor miscommunication during ordering, and the bartender responded in a noticeably unfriendly way.
As for the food, the Fanta tasted flat ($3.50/20 ounce bottle from a vending machine) and the shiro pizza and crust dips were subpar and lacked flavor. For spending around $30 just for myself (pizza, taiyaki, and one drink), I expected better quality and service.
Overall, the experience felt strange and not very hospitable. I really wanted to love this place, but between the service and the food quality, it missed the mark for me.

Ordered sausage pizza but the sausage was scarce on the pizza and I felt like I am just getting cheese pizza. Also too noisy for us

Zack provided exceptional service. The Cocktails he made were the best we have had in NKY.
Thank you,

A unique spot. Definitely a fun vibe. The food is solid, but maybe won't blow you away, and it's a little limited as far as the menu goes. But, overall worth a visit if you're in the area and you're a nerd like me aha.

The vibe and drinks were great! However, I think the pizza might have been the worst I've ever tasted... I would advise passing on the food.

ok so Tokyo Pie in Covington is actually SO GOOD!!! like not trying too hard, not fancy, just straight up amazing vibes and food. walked in thinking it would be a quick pizza stop and somehow ended up having the best night.
the place feels alive but still chill. music on, lights, everyone just having a good time. it’s the kind of spot where you immediately relax and then suddenly realize you’re laughing a lot and having way more fun than expected.
the pizza though. WOW. every slice is better than the last. the crust is perfect, the toppings are fun but not weird, and everything just WORKS. i kept eating even when i was full because it was that good. easily some of the best pizza i’ve had in a long time.
drinks were also a win!!! they look cool and actually taste great which is all that matters. definitely adds to the whole experience without being over the top.
overall it was just such a good time. easy, fun, zero stress, all vibes. would 100 percent go back immediately. Tokyo Pie is THAT place!!!

I feel uncomfortable about all the AI generation use all over their website and menu. I'd prefer to see legitimate pictures of the food vs Chat-GPT style em dashes everywhere. It's 2026, AI makes me feel like there's shortcuts taken elsewhere.
