Wenzel Distillery makes very good bourbon and whiskey, and their cocktails are well done, but the prices take away from the experience. Most Kentucky distilleries I’ve visited sell bottles between 40 and 80 dollars for their most basic bourbon, yet every bottle here is 99 dollars. The tasting is 30 dollars, which feels high when tastings at other distilleries usually cost between 15 and 25 dollars. The quality is there, but the pricing makes it hard to fully enjoy the visit. The staff is excellent though, very welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly.

What's really impressive is that you can see the distilling process firsthand right inside the factory—such a cool, authentic experience. The atmosphere inside is very comfortable and welcoming, perfect for relaxing and enjoying great conversation. The bartenders are fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to recommend their best pours. Plus, the rooftop offers amazing views, making it a perfect spot to unwind and take in the scenery. This should soon be the heart of Covington whiskey trail. Bourbon was a light supper with lots of flavor. The sherry cask finish is insane! Must buy bottle! Rye and wheated were good. Great little lounge, with a cigar bar up top. I’ll be back for a bachelor party!
This place was wonderful. I got to speak to one of the owners who gave me a detailed explanation of how they do their blending and what they have to offer. This was only the 2nd day in their new location, but I couldn't tell. Their product was fantastic and worthy of all accolades it achieves.
