Great food like normal, Half Smokin Q - Half Harvest Cherry (Smokin Q is always a great choice, but the Harvest Cherry was a wonderful surprise that my wife loves). The kids' Mac & Cheese pizza was surprisingly good, too. šŸ˜„

Great place. I have celiac and can eat many dishes on the menu including some of the best baked ziti.

Got the nachos and the top layer was the only thing that had anything on the chips. A little disappointing but a cool place to hang out at and drink a beer. Pizza is great!!!

Love the food here , especially since they have the max and ermas tortilla soup , but the service was horrible . Took forever to get seated , had 3 different people coming to our table for food and drinks , never got a refill on drinks or anything. To top it all off the place wasn't even busy .

Let me start with saying if you’re looking for good food, good vibes and super service THIS is the place. Also, super conveniently located right off the exit and right next to Trader Joe’s - can we say DOUBLE WIN We swung in just for some brews and bites and hit the jackpot! The band was in full swing - highly recommend checking out Second Take if you’re in the Cinci region - we lucked out and caught the show right as we sat down. Super chill environment too, not overcrowded and our waitress Stevie was PHENOMENAL šŸ‘Œ Quick to grab our drinks, didn’t forget me when I asked for refills, grabbed our apps out the gate and hooked us on the napkins because ya girl is a messy eater šŸ˜† she even answered my 100 questions about what local brews they offer (which, if this is your forte, def check out their selection - I was impressed) Anywho, 10/10 service, food, atmosphere and generally just a cool spot to check out that’s 15 min from anywhere as soon as you hit the highway in the Queen City šŸ¤™

Nice menu with a good variety but not overwhelming. Food was fresh and flavorful - enjoying the lodgepoles. The battered fries are crisp and hot and the spicy chicken sandwich was divine. Good all around with comfort and lots of parking.

The chicken bacon ranch "egg" rolls were good. But my wife's street tacos were not. Her first bite is a huge piece of gristle, and the rest of the meat was dry.
Everyone else in our party seemed to enjoy their burgers. I guess the food can be hit or miss.

We made our first and second trip to McKenzie’s within a week of each other with mixed reviews. I’d rate our first trip a 4 but our second trip a 3. In our first trip, we ordered three salads, a spinach, a Caesar, and a house salad. The spinach salad was well put together but I opted for the house vinaigrette and that was a mistake - it had a bitter taste and did not complement that salad. Ditto on the house salad - lesson learned. The Caesar salad was ok. We had a bbq pizza with a traditional crust and while the toppings were very good, the pizza was slightly undercooked - no crispness at all to the bottom of the crust. I had fish tacos and an order of fries. The fries were excellent but there wasn’t enough fish for the oversized taco shells and the protein got lost between the tortilla and the toppings. The fish and chips were good but the fish lacked salt. We also got a bowl of chicken chili verde and it was delicious.

Our second trip was with a different third party and we ordered wings, dry, with hot buffalo and bourbon bbq sauce on the side, a smokin q thin crust pizza, a taco trio, and southwestern salad with sliced seasoned steak. The wings were cooked well but a bit on the small side and I wondered how the breading would hold up after they were coated with your sauce of choice. The pizza was very good and cooked perfectly. The taco trio came with three different sauces. The chicken sauce was weird so we substituted the hot buffalo sauce I got with my wings and all was well. The shrimp taco fell apart when we picked it up which of course made it awkward to eat - tasty but awkward. The southwestern salad was a total disaster and I was surprised it was served. I had no idea what was on top of the salad so I asked my wife and she said ā€œsliced seasoned steakā€. Not what she had pictured. The steak was indeed seasoned but was more chopped than sliced and grossly overcooked. We did what we rarely do and that’s send it back. She got a large bowl of chicken chili instead which was just ok. A real disappointment compared to our previous visit so it makes me wonder if we’ll be back.

I’m guessing their burgers might be nice and their pasta dishes sounded nice but you’ll have to be the judge .

It’s been difficult to find a restaurant that suites my wife’s gluten free needs since she’s been diagnosed with celiac disease. Mackenzie River has a diverse selection of gluten free items and the food was great!
