Asahi Japanese Restaurant (II)

Went here on new years day-- rice was sticky and not good tasted like a microwave meal-- our chicken was covered in not so good teriyaki sauce...it tasted like salt-- wasn't very happy at all won't be back

Our order has always been correct, the staff has always been polite. They are our local go to sushi.

So many choices to pick from. Food is wonderful.Quality and Service is top notch. Will come back many times in the future.

At least one of our six rolls was wrong, my husband and I didn't care for the five we got ourselves and ended up throwing away most of the food we spent over eighty dollars on. Won't be back.

I loved to Oldham County from the Highlands in Louisville about three years ago and the one thing I miss most from home are the restaurants, ESPECIALLY the sushi restaurants. However, Asahii fills the void effortlessly and is honestly one of the best sushi restaurants in Kentucky, in my option. The food quality, flavors, options, everything is just perfection. I feel really lucky to live near them. I’m also impressed with the hibachi. Thank you all so much for the consistently good food and service.

Asahi had good service, they constantly checked for refills. The sushi tasted great but was slightly too large compared to conventional japanese cuisine.That's were the good ends. The beef was overcooked and tasted like it was from a Chinese buffet. The dishes were slightly bland. The worst was that my two sisters a couple hours after eating began vomiting and were sick for the next 24 hours. We believe it was a sushi they exclusively ate.

We loved this place when it was mikato. The food was always great. We went thinking it couldnt be that much different right?Wrong. I was actually peeved having to pay almost 100 dollars to eat there. We will not be going back.I think they are riding on the coat tails of reviews for mikato.

Incredible food, Amazing staff who you can tell work tirelessly, and considering it's sushi a pretty good price.

Having grown up in Crestwood (SOHS '97), I'm still shocked at the idea of sushi being available here, but I am more than thrilled that Asahi is present. I'm nursing a full belly after a great dinner. Portions are large and the quality of the seafood is excellent for what you would find in Kentucky. My mom had a huge plate of shrimp teriyaki with an excellent sauce that was not overly sweet nor overpowered the shrimp and veggies. My three sushi rolls were well crafted. Admittedly, I might have wanted a bit less sauce on my unagi roll but I'm usually facing the other dilemma of not enough. We will definitely be back.

Best sushi we have had in a long time. The Jake and Spider Roll are amazing. The staff is great.

This was our first time eating at Asahi and we were not disappointed! Our daughters had sushi and it was beautifully done. The ginger dressing was delicious and this is our new family dinner spot!

I like ordering the Asahi Bento Box. It comes in several containers and two bags, if you carry out. However, it is a delightful mix of chicken teriyaki, tempura, and sushi. I highly recommend. The cost is very in line with ordering food from a fast-fresh place.

The food and service was amazing!! We are definitely going back many times!! You have to give it a try if you like good Japanese food with a large menu selection. You’ll be glad you did!!

Good rolls and great service. Beef and chicken hibachi was a platefull. Can't wait for leftovers
