I had never been to a Skyline Chili. I proudly declared to the manager who rushed over to convert me to the Cincinnati area famous chili. He explained the differences between skyline and other types of chili and some of the nuances of the chili like we were in some sort of quasi wine tasting. Personally I was 100% there for it. I ended up ordering 3 coney dogs, one with jalapeño cheese on it to go. It was late and I had to get back to my hotel, people were waiting on me, or else I would have stayed and enjoyed the quaint diner on the end of a strip mall that serves chili late at night…. The atmosphere was a clean place that oddly reminded me of the 90’s but was well taken care of. As I returned to my hotel I ate all three coney dogs quickly. They. Were. Delicious. The jalapeño cheese was maybe not as spicy as I would have expected but they put hot sauce in the bag that was well used. Overall, I can see the appeal of the chili place, for a chili that doesn’t have beans in it.Food was great! Staff was extremely helpful! This skyline chili is open late!

If you have friends or family from the area (Ohio? Kentucky? etc) that just don't stop about their beloved Skyline Chili and you've finally made it here, welcome but prepare to be underwhelmed. It's chili, nothing you would remember if you ate it and no one ever mentioned it again. I was on the fence between 3-4 stars. I went with 3 because of how important I think employee-customer interactions are. Unhelpful when I had questions, with the cashier rolling her eyes too. But how would I know how to order if there's NO MENU UP ANYWHERE. I'm still not sure why; maybe the only people that go there are regulars? Another customer nearby suggested the menus sitting on the tables.. interesting way for new customers to learn how to order. On top of all that, I have to mention the place was dirty. There were crumbs left on the tables near me and one family was sat before their table was even wiped down. I wonder if there are other processes they skimp on. We got our order of two simple bags of coneys quickly. I'm not sure how they were meant to be and they were good as far as I was concerned, but my family mentioned that it was actually wrong. Again, not terrible experience but definitely not on my to-do list for next time I'm in town.

Yall can look I don't leave 5 stars often. Just going down the list on Google. 1st Food it's Skyline need I say more. Service walked in and ordered a 4 way and chili dog out the door in 5 minutes. And finally, in the atmosphere in the short time I was there, 3 other people walked in the cook, addressed them by name, and asked about their family, something rarely seen

This is local favorite. We had to try it. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had the 5 way and it's more like a spaghetti than a chili to us. It has a unique flavor bc they put cinnamon in their sauce. And they load it with lots and lots of cheese. I would suggest to at least try it.
As always a place to satisfy a local's acquired taste. When visiting anywhere near Cincinnati I have to make the decision: 3-way or cheese coneys or both.

I have been going to this Skyline for about 10 years. I drive past the Taylor mill ky skyline to get to this one. Since day one I was treated with respect, always excellent service. Food is great and if there was ever a problem they simply fixed it right away. Last night I went to the locally well known pompillo Italian restaurant in Newport ky. The marinara sauce , you can tell comes right out of a can and probably watered down. The spaghetti is not cooked to proper point, very rubbery. This erlanger ky skyline hands down is better service and food than pompillo's, an upscale eatery. The Owners of this Skyline are there throughout the day and walk the floor and talk to customers. Its a family feel. They have also supported local local sports and other causes in the area.
