Ordered some chicken thighs and some ribs (first time trying) and they were both delicious!! It went great with some awesome sides of macaroni and cheese, green beans and Cole slaw! Highly recommend for catering and or casual lunch.

Portions were great size the chicken is very tasteless not dry but the flavor profile just wasn’t there the brisket was full of fat with no flavor the hot sauce taste like some stuff just thrown together and called sauce the sign said 20oz Pepsi products for $2.25 when they are a 16.9 ounce bottle could be a good place to eat if the flavor was there potato salad was good macaroni and cheese was over cooked and bland

Bluegrass Meats Fails the Accountability Test—And Basic Resilience

As a business that values operational integrity, we feel compelled to hold others to the same standard. Today, February 11, 2025, Bluegrass Meats demonstrated a staggering lack of commitment to its customers—and to basic professionalism. Let’s dissect the absurdity.

A mere 0.4 inches of snow fell between 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM, which, by noon, had dissolved into slush under 37°F rain. Roads were clear, businesses citywide were operational, and life carried on. Yet at 3:30 PM—six and a half hours after the snowfall ceased—Bluegrass Meats remained shuttered, citing “weather” as its excuse.

Weather? Let’s clarify: this was not a blizzard, nor an ice storm, nor a natural disaster. This was a dusting of snow, the kind that inconveniences no one beyond a minor morning scrape of a windshield. For a BBQ shop—a business that sells non-perishable goods—to use this as justification for closure during peak operating hours is laughably inept.

If Bluegrass Meats cannot navigate the mildest of seasonal inconveniences, how does it plan to sustain customer trust? Posted hours are a contract with the public; flippantly disregarding them under false pretenses is a dereliction of duty. While competitors adapted, Bluegrass chose complacency, prioritizing convenience over service.

This is not merely a bad day—it’s a harbinger. A business that shuts its doors at the slightest hint of adversity (real or imagined) is a business courting failure. To the management: recalibrate your priorities, or prepare for the inevitable consequences of such negligence. Customers deserve reliability, not excuses. Bankruptcy isn’t a prophecy—it’s the outcome of self-inflicted wounds.

Beautifully Made

Make sure you check your receipt and verify how much sauce on the side cost...not extra suace, just requested sauce on the side inside instead of on the meat. It cost me an extra $4.20.

I have used this amazing place for catering for a workplace event, and also eaten their takeout for dinner with my husband, and both experiences were amazing! They are always kind and easy to work with, and the barbecue is incredible. Some of the best I've ever had! Couldn't recommend them more highly!
