High-end restaurant on a working horse farm. Locally sourced ingredients and a beautiful converted horse barn. The chef has created an adventurous menu that's still accessible. The drink list is extensive with a huge bourbon sheet. Service was predictably top notch.

I’m honestly astonished to see negative reviews about Barn 8. From my experience, it delivers exactly what it promises — and then some.
The food may not be for everyone, especially if you’re expecting heavy, overly processed, or overly familiar dishes. But if you value clean, thoughtfully prepared meals made with all local ingredients, it is absolutely amazing. You can truly taste the difference in the freshness and quality. Every dish feels intentional, vibrant, and beautifully balanced.
What stands out most is their commitment to sourcing locally and keeping everything clean and ingredient-focused. Nothing feels artificial or overdone — just pure, well-prepared food that lets the ingredients shine. It’s refreshing to dine somewhere that prioritizes quality from farm to table.
For those who appreciate fresh, local, clean cuisine, Barn 8 is exceptional. I would go back again without hesitation.

Absolutely loved this place! We started with cocktails, bread/spreads, and cauliflower. Then had short ribs, butternut squash risotto, and coffee ice cream to finish. Everything was delicious! We were very happy with our meal and service was great. Did the art walk after too which was lovely. We will 100% be back.

Absolutely stellar experience. This is a farm to table restaurant with fresh, delicious food that also offers a number of other on site experiences such as horse encounters and an art walk.
The restaurant is set in a refurbished barn and it's very cosy and bright. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful.
I had an old fashioned which was good. Followed that up with a Dragon's Blood cocktail which I liked quite a bit better
I had the bass as my entree and it was simply amazing. Well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The squash puree was the perfect complement.

The atmosphere was amazing. Such a cool memorable venue. The service was top notch however, the food was so incredibly mediocre. The agnolotti was awful and had 5 noodles for 30+ dollars. None of the food was worth the price tag.The burger was good though and the only meal our party of 5 liked. Definitely recommend going for the atmosphere and drinks just eat before you go.

We dined in here for a fun NYE dinner tonight and I will say I was impressed every time our waiter, Lindsey, came to the table. She was very nice, relaxed and informative. We appreciate her watching out for my boyfriend’s mushroom allergy when he accidentally ordered something that had mushrooms in it. Everything we ordered was timely, delicious and cooked to perfection. Truly a fantastic dining experience. Thank you Lindsey!
Also house made tonic was YUM!!!

Food was mediocre. I would say, however, that it tasted fairly fresh. The staff from the hostess, bartenders, to the manager are some of the most impersonal people I have been around. It did not have a farm feel to it, more like a downtown Louisville feel by how the people interact with you. Probably would not go again.

Barn8 was full on a Thursday evening. We felt lucky to get our 6:45 pm reservation! The atmosphere was warm and the decor was interesting throughout. The fresh salad with baked pears was excellent and large enough to share among the three of us. The ravioli dish, however, was a bit underwhelming for the price. The trout and bison entrées were both amazing, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The miniscule icecream dish was flavorful. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The music and lights show along the boardwalk is a unique and memorable touch.

Mushroom soup too salty. Trout bland and only fish on the menu. Ravioli ( only veg option) was undercooked and NOT tasty- terrible presentation. Slow service- we waited 15 min just to get water after we were seated.
