We were excited to come across The Bard Distillery during our trip to Clarksville. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the history of the buildings and the owners. Excellent guides and products. Looking forward to coming back when the remodel is finished.
Everyone so friendly and welcoming! Loved hearing about the history and such a unique place to visit! Not to mention they have great bourbon. Will definitely visit again.
Fun little stop. Staff very nice and helpful. Found last minute gift with ease.
Can't visit Kentucky and not visit a distillery! First stop today was at @thebarddistillery in Graham, KY. We got to meet Kim (Carter) Bard, one of the founders and owners of the distillery. She used to be a NASCAR Busch driver (now know as XFINITY) and now drivers monster trucks! She's in the last photo.
They are relatively new (Est 2019), but the passion for whiskey is generations deep. Don't skip this visit!
We walked away with our spirits high after sipping and savoring every drop! 😉 this is a place to keep your eye on...

A fun visit, great people. Just getting started so I am looking forward to my next visit to see how far they go!
Every now and then on The Whiskey Trip, I meet distillers whose passion comes through so clearly that you can feel it even through a microphone. Thom and Kim Bard of The Bard Distillery are exactly those kinds of people.
I haven’t had the chance to visit their distillery yet, but after sitting down with them for an interview and spending time with their whiskey, I can tell you this: Thom and Kim are the heartbeat of Muhlenberg County craft whiskey.
Their commitment runs deeper than mash bills and barrels. It’s about honoring history, uplifting their community, restoring a 1920s schoolhouse into something remarkable, and pouring their spirit into every bottle that carries their name.
What really struck me during our conversation was their why:
Why they created the Cinder & Smoke series.
Why long-aged whiskey matters to them.
Why their roots shape every decision they make.
You can taste that purpose in their bourbon. You can hear it in their voices. You can feel it in their story.
Thom and Kim aren’t just making whiskey. They’re building a legacy with heart, creativity, and relentless dedication. Their lineup stands tall, not because it tries to be loud, but because it is honest, thoughtful, and full of character.
Even without stepping foot on their property yet, I can say this with full confidence:
The Bard Distillery is one of the most passionate and purpose-driven distilleries I’ve ever featured.
If you haven’t tried their whiskey, do yourself a favor and grab a bottle. The story they’re telling deserves to be tasted.

Absolutely 100 percent recommend a trip here. They may teach you something you never knew during tastings. We had an absolute blast with these folks here. They are so knowledgeable about the area. I tasted nothing bad everything was good.
Amazing experience! This is a must stop and see. The bourbon was top notch and the hospitality was priceless. Thank you Kim Bard for the wonderful historical tour, fabulous tasting, and your warm hospitality! Excited to add your bourbon to our collection.
Fantastic little distillery. Great in house selection. Between the house selections and the staff this is definitely worth the drive to visit
Excellent tour and tasting. Great cocktails and merch. Will definitely go back!

So wonderful and unique! The tour was great, the distillery has an awesome backstory. Everybody working was super friendly, laid back, and answered all of our questions. Cocktails and tasting were amazing as well. Can't wait to come back!
Worth a drive! So lovely and great products. We were lucky enough to have one of the owners do our tasting, so I felt like we got a real personal touch. Such a cool place, and I think we’ll be back!
Stopped here on a whim and so happy we did. What a charming spot. We feel like real bourbon pros now after the wonderful tasting experience. The staff are so friendly and helpful! We left with 2 bottles and expect we will be ordering more!
Excellent distillery in Graham. Not too far of a drive from Grand Rivers where we were staying. There’s lots of cool stuff going on here.
The distillery is housed in the old school property. The school was built by the town’s founder with the mission of bettering the next generation of the community. The Bards are carrying on this tradition by repurposing the school and making it that the centerpiece of the town again. You gotta love that.
The bourbons are all fantastic. They are small batch and crafted with care. I’m not going to go into intimate detail about each one because you need to come here and sample them yourselves. Words don’t really do them justice.
The back story of this place is actually pretty amazing. The people are awesome! We rode out here from little Sturgis to do a tasting. 10 of us walk in and they immediately gave us a warm welcome and hooked us up with some Bourbon Slushies! After the tasting I had to have a bottle of the Cinder and Smoke Oloroso! Do yourself a favor if you like an Old Fashioned and have them make you one with it. 🔥 Great Group of people with an excellent product! You don’t have to take my word for it just give them a visit and see for yourself!
