The back story of this place is actually pretty amazing. The people are awesome! We rode out here from little Sturgis to do a tasting. 10 of us walk in and they immediately gave us a warm welcome and hooked us up with some Bourbon Slushies! After the tasting I had to have a bottle of the Cinder and Smoke Oloroso! Do yourself a favor if you like an Old Fashioned and have them make you one with it. 🔥 Great Group of people with an excellent product! You don’t have to take my word for it just give them a visit and see for yourself!
The history of the grounds and owners was very interesting. Can’t wait to go back next year and see their expansion! Enjoyed the tasting- walked away with a Muhlenburg Apple Whiskey. The mixed drinks menu was great- recommend purchasing one! All of the customer service was exceptional- the owner went above and beyond to spend some time talking with us. We will be back- thanks for the great experience!
Great story and staff with even better bourbon!
Great bourbon
Great bourbon and the staff is super nice! we will be back with our Slingshot friends!!
An amazing stop on the Craft Tour that I won’t soon forget. Very small team with a lot of passion for the art of bourbon. I recommend the guided tasting if you’re short on time to try their wide selection of bourbons and liquors. Under renovations currently but will revisit when it’s complete!
The distillery had a great tour and tasting. Very friendly and interesting. The distillery is growing and will be great to watch it grow. The spirits were award winning.
Most welcoming distillery on the trail. 7 tastings each unique and great. Excited to return.
Went for a tour and tasting. The tour was great and very informative and the tasting was fantastic all the spirits are so good! Overall a great experience because everyone was so enthusiastic about the distillery and the products and the local community of which they are a part of.
These people are AMAZING! I had a great time and they were incredibly kind and welcoming. I felt like I was fortunate enough to have visited. Thank you, THE BARD. I look forward to your expansion!!

Did the tasting, every single one was good. One of the owners was there she was so nice and welcoming. They have big plans for the place definitely wanna go back. They have a fantastic old fashioned very recommended.
My wife and I have been here several times and I cannot praise this place enough. Everyone you find here is incredibly friendly and helpful from the employees to the owners you will almost always find onsite. The selection of Bourbon/Whiskey is among the best you will find for a craft distillery and it is nice to see how well they can match up and often surpass the big brands in quality and flavor. They also have a nice selection of apparel and items to buy, along with a real cocktail menu.
Might not be right next door to Bardstown, but definitely worth the drive! You won't be disappointed! Love that they took an old school and turned it into a distillery. That alone is worth the trip, but then factor in the great bourbon and you're in for a real treat!
Extremely welcoming staff and owners who are very knowledgeable and make a great product.
Add this one to your trip and be sure to enjoy a sip or two or four.
In the world of bourbon, the bard is a special place. It is a destination, not just a stop along the way.
Wahoo! What a hidden treasure! Great bourbons AND bourbon creams for those who can't handle the real thing, like me! ? A gem of a place with a rich history. Go!
