Poor customer service. Server avoided us. Out of multiple menu items. Pork was cold and didn’t taste fresh. Waited over 20 minutes for a to go dessert. Very disappointing.

Let’s start with the brisket. No. Just no. Don’t burn it but that was the only flavor it had. What a shame on that meat. Baked beans were straight out of a can, so really are just pork and beans. But it was the only taste on the table so thank you Van Camps pork and beans. My slaw had zero taste and had to be dressed with water. I truly wanted to love a local Bar B Cue joint. I won’t go back.

There was a group of us in for a business meeting on Saturday. Our waitress Olivia was great! I particularly wasn't impressed by the ribs, and the manager said she would remove them from the bill. When she came to remove them, she messed up the ticket, and the waitress mentioned she did and she yelled at her and told her it was the waitress' mistake and continued to belittle the waitress in front of everyone. Horrible management. I wouldn't recommend treating your staff poorly for others to see.

Three adults and two children totaling $105 before tip, we asked for a minute to look over the menu and our waitress didn't come back for another 20 minutes, they were out of brisket, got ribs and pulled pork, both were quite dry, the bbq sauce wasn't anything special. Did not receive a single refill in our hour long visit. My wife and her friend got sandwiches which to their opinion were not very good either. Had sweet baby Ray's with the leftovers which was better than the house sauce.

My wife and I were there yesterday 7-26-25, at approximately 4pm. There was not a crowd in the dining area, maybe 15 people. We stood and waited on a table close to 5 min because all of the servers were standing at the bar area. After being seated our drink order was taken & drinks brought out promptly, then we sat and waited what seemed to be forever for someone to take our order. Our order came out promptly, But my wife’s fish was greasy, it was actually puddled up on the fish, I ordered pulled pork & pulled chicken that tasted like it was two weeks old, it was cold & old. I couldn’t eat it. The waitress never came back to our table, not even to bring our check. After sitting there for 20 minutes I was able to get the attention of another waitress to pay our bill. We have never had such a terrible experience with both food and service. We can honestly say that was our last visit to the Slop Trough. I brought my dinner home, thinking I could fix it up, I tried but it was still nasty! Don’t waist you time nor money. Rob Waggoner

Excellent pulled pork and brisket. Full service bar area and separate dining area too. Fast service. Definitely a great place for a stop on your road trip.

The food was slow we got appetizers before we got drinks messed my order up multiple times I said no vegetables and the first they put everything on it the second time they just took the tomatoes off
