First time there, if I'm back in the area, will definitely go back. Brisket was good, mac & cheese was good. Nice, relaxed dining room. All the staff were super nice and friendly. Good BBQ joint!

Very watered-down BBQ sauce at the table which ran right off the patch of pulled pork I found hiding under a half dollar size circular piece of Swiss cheese on my Hawaiian burger. The burger did have grilled onions and a round grilled slice of pineapple on a good-sized patty. However, the fries looked like they endured a many-day arduous journey before resting under a heat lamp and then finally settled on my plate lukewarm, dried out, and tasteless. I washed down the food with water that had brushed by some tea bags for color.
It smelled fantastic from outside and I was sorely disappointed. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong things.

Poor customer service. Server avoided us. Out of multiple menu items. Pork was cold and didn’t taste fresh. Waited over 20 minutes for a to go dessert. Very disappointing.
We have eaten at The Hog's Trough twice and the food is amazing. The brisket, chicken and pulled pork are tender, well seasoned and the portions are huge!! Both times we took enough food home for another meal! And the sides.....wow!! The mac/cheese is the best anywhere. We had baked beans (wonderful), cole slaw (amazing), green beans (a little too spicy according to our grandkids)!! They have several other sides as well. Our server was great, and the service to get our food was very fast!! Only a couple cons to our visits were: it would be nice to have someone to greet you as you walk in the door. We waited several minutes before anyone acknowledged that we were there; and a definite remodel of the inside would make a great difference. It is very dark and dingy on the inside from the walls to the floors. Hopefully, this will be an area that the owners will work on in the future, but this should not stop you from enjoying some amazing food!

Small is a 1/2lb of meat. Large is 1lb. We went with the large 2 meat combo got the half chicken (so you get one 1/2 chicken each and brisket plenty for two. And under $40. Great price.
