My mom hadn’t had Rax in over 30 years. My grandpa used to get it for her all the time back when there were hundreds of these restaurants. Now there’s only a handful left. My mom and I drove here so she could have it again and she said it was the same as it always was. Excellent roast beef sandwich!

I made a nearly 4 hour drive today to enjoy some Rax roast beef for the first time since the 80s. The food was great, and the lady who took my order was a gem. Overall, it’s an experience I’m happy is still possible to have in the Bluegrass, and I hope they can stay open for a long time.

This is the last Rax in the state. It's been 20 years since I've had their food. It was just as good as I remembered. The decor is a bit long in the tooth, but it adds to the nostalgia. The young woman at the counter was polite and took our order with no issues. Worth checking out if you're going to be nearby.

Did the drive-in so can't really comment on the atmosphere but the food was good. I only had a couple chicken wraps but they tasted great. Plenty of chicken in one but one was a little lacking. Overall though? Pretty decent food. Just what I was looking for to fill that void.

A true Harlan county gem. A county treasure. If you are passing through Harlan county, you absolutely need to stop and eat at Rax. The staff are excellent and the food is delicious. Go and show them some love when you pass through.
