Drove in traffic hours to get here, arrived at 8:30 was turned away for dinner. When I ask if we could get just an appetizer to go we were told no.

It's an interesting place to visit but if you want to spend top dollar for a night in a room that can hear every drop of water your neighbor turns on and loud children running up and down stairs, then this place is for you.

Shakers Village of Pleasent Hill is off the beaten path. When you get down into the Village you are stopped and asked were your part of the Village you came to see. When you park your car,and enter the Village there is quite silent sound. You hear the birds flap their wings. You hear the creek waters roll over the rocks. You smell clean forest pine trees. Just loved it

Ordered take out and the meal was life changing. We love this place, not only the food but staying there overnight as well. Thank you!

Parking: Always busy but have made provisions for easy parking.

A wonderful Anniversary experience. The food was amazing and our waitress was so nice. Not your ordinary menu which made it very unique and a special dining experience.

Finally got to visit Historic Shaker Village -after a 45 year wait! The restaurant was a wonderful surprise. Reservations are needed. We had a wonderful breakfast with the best bacon ever. The menu is limited. Biscuits and scrambled eggs main attraction. Dinner menu was much larger with delicious little yeast rolls. I had walleye, it is a small portion which is good because it was very salty. Also a spaghetti squash au gratin casserole. It was delicious. I love that the server told us that we could take our wine outside after dinner to listen to music. Which we did. Also enjoyed another glass while we were out there. Perfect close to a lovely trip to historic Shaker Village.

If cracker barrel made 5-star menu with locally sourced and truly seasonal items, that is the Trustee's table experience at Shaker Village. Honestly have never been disappointed with any meal or stay that we have had there. Highly recommend their season pass and trying out all their events.

We are a bit disappointed after much anticipation of eating here. I ordered the broiled heirloom tomatoes with ricotta … expecting broiled heirloom tomatoes topped with a creamy dollop and was dismayed at the skillet filled with ricotta dotted with 4 tiny cherry tomatoes. It was basically baked cheese. My MIL had the mashed potatoes (delicious) and the tomato celery soup was average. My kids said their paninis were decent. We walked through the farm and although the myriad kale varieties looked magnificent, none of what we saw in the garden made it to our plates. (To be fair, they do offer salads but I looked for it on the menu and only saw ‘baby greens’). I only note this as it is heralded as a ‘farm to table’ establishment. Our server Tanya was gracious and attentive, but the hostess wasn’t overly friendly. I suppose we were expecting more of a heritage experience given the property, but there were no backstories nor any further information offered. For the prices charged, and the hour drive to get there, it was underwhelming. I don’t think we would go again.

The food was great. Service was good. Recommend that you make a reservation. I have one complaint... The dining room chairs are very uncomfortable for anyone who isn't slim. They have the Shaker chairs with the two knobs at either side that poke into your legs most painfully. As a fat person, it was painful and ruined my enjoyment of the meal. The Shakers made their chairs uncomfortable purposely as I understand it because you weren't supposed to be idle... So on one hand I understand the desire to showcase shaker craftsmanship but on the other hand, it isn't a good sign of hospitality to offer your guests an uncomfortable chair.
