We have been here multiple times and the food is always incredible!!! Their water is always super cold and tastes great! I love the fried chicken dinner and never can seem to order anything else. I gave 5 stars on the food and atmosphere, the service and hostess could definitely use an improvement though as we were wait listed for 15 mins with a seemingly empty restaurant. We were seated at a table that was empty when we came in. Once seated we waited almost 5 minutes for our server to bring drinks. If you can get by these small inconveniences, it's well worth a visit for the food!

Fantastic food of the highest quality served in a serene and tastefully restored historic building. It loses one star for service because it took forever to get our drinks, but worth the wait.

I’m only putting a star because Google makes me otherwise it would be none. This evening 11/2 my family went to Shaker village. My wife made a reservation for the trustees table back in September for 11/2 and when we arrive the hostess told us they could not seat us because they have a large group and bumped us. My wife showed her the confirmation and she said they move to a new system and wont seat us. My wife asked if there was someone she could speak with and was told no, if we could get take away because our kids were hungry no, and then told us we should drive to Harrodsburg if we want to eat. We’ve enjoyed shaker village and the trustees table for years but now I will spend my money elsewhere.

Terrible hostess services. We did not have a reservation for 7 people, but the hostess took our name and said we had two parties ahead of us and she could not give an estimated time to wait. We wait an hour then I ask the hostess about the wait and she then tells me that we will only get a table if a reservation cancels. That would have been nice to tell me an hour a go. Will not visit the restaurant again! The rest of Shaker Village is nice. Trustee Table garbage!

Our favorite place to eat for special occasions. Quiet and peaceful inside. We have come here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. It’s great to be able to walk and see the produce gardens where some of the produce that you eat is sourced. It is a bit pricy, but it is worth the price for the experience.

Everything I expected and more. The service is friendly and attentive, the dining room is clean and tidy, atmosphere true to the period, and the food…OMG! My husband had the Reuben, and I had the Flatbread. We both inhaled our food and finished it (we should have stopped half way because the portions were huge, but it was THAT good). A must try.

My spouse and I are gluten free and struggle to dine out due to our dietary restrictions. Most restaurants gluten free options are limited to salads IF they have any options at all.

We had an amazing lunch experience during a visit to Shaker Village. The service was impeccable. Devon assisted us and was friendly and very helpful while also being attentive of our dietary restrictions. The restaurant has wonderful dedicated gluten free menu with broad offerings - this is so rare for most restaurants! The menu has delicious offerings. We had the Hoppin’ John soup special (amazing!) along with a seasonal salad and a grilled chicken main course with yummy homestyle sides. They also have the most delicious gluten free muffins we have ever had (recipe please!?)

It is so rare for us to have an enjoyable and fulfilling meal dining out. We can’t thank this restaurant and service team enough for being so attentive and quality focused. The mark of a great restaurant is its ability to welcome everyone from menu to plate, we travel a lot and the Trustees Table is top notch and made our day at Shaker Village.
