Neveria Y Paleteria 5 De Mayo is within walking distance of my home, and it’s honestly one of my favorite parts of living in such a unique location in this charming little town. My 8-year-old daughter & I love to stop by here on our scooters ? when we are either heading to or from the epic new skatepark or the super fun splash pad at La Grange Springs Park…it’s also really close to the Alley Loop Historic District Walk & literally within view of the lovely “Be Kind” Mural, which is an adorable photo opportunity! So in terms of the perfect ice cream experience, literally every flavor I’ve ever tried is mouthwatering & we find ourselves later craving the delicious-ness. The first time I went there, I got a big scoop of strawberry cheesecake & also “Ferrero Rocher”…that combo slaps so hard! ? I also loved the cookies and cream flavor with a scoop of pistachio…my daughter prefers the cool-looking ice pops or any sorbet…she tends to choose the strawberry or mango ? last time we went, they recommended the ice cream flavor “Memay” and let me just say, it was a full blown winner for both my daughter and I. They tempted us with sample bites & we both fell in love with it…it’s a MUST TRY!! It’s basically a melon (similar to a flavor like almond with avocado-like texture)…apparently it’s often compared to a brown sugar-covered sweet potato, with notes of pumpkin, caramel and cantaloupe. SO FREAKING GOOD!! There’s nothing quite like it & we would have never known its existence without this awesome little spot & the friendly, helpful workers who introduced it to us. ???

Kid-friendliness: My daughter was being kinda sassy when we were ordering one time, so I was obviously frustrated & informing her that the way she was acting was a little greedy/selfish. One of the workers supported me in his own way with his own special words to her, and it really stuck with my daughter lol…she still randomly brings it to this day! I was very thankful for his thoughtful, gentle support in that moment and will never forget that ?

Can’t wait to go back! Perfect flavors, I had the Mangonada and a banana paleta. My husband had a banana split. Both were among the best we’ve ever had. Definitely a new favorite.

Very cool ice cream shop, with cheerful server and generous portions. Sampled the cappuccino and the caramel flavours both highly recommended.

Really cool mom & pop ice cream shop! Right in downtown Lagrange. My family & I had an assortment of ice cream.Pina coladaMint chocolate chipCoconut.& Sampled even more. . . . There wasn't one flavor that we didn't enjoy. With Hispanic roots, the family who started this store brought a taste of Mexican treats to the bluegrass. We will definitely be back.

So disappointed!! I've been wanting to try this place for forever. Finally took my son's for a treat this afternoon while we were downtown. We were immediately overwhelmed by the smell inside. It smelled very unpleasant and was very unappetizing. All of the ice cream looked quite freezerburnt, as it was glazed with ice crystals. We chose a popsicle. The two mini strawberry pops we chose were fine. My coconut popsicle had a weird flim on the edges, like the film that settles on cooked milk. It wasn't very flavorful. We will not try this establishment again sadly.

Don’t call yourself a biscuit company if your biscuits are canned.
