The shop owner is always super attentive and really takes care of the customers. I haven't found anything on this store that I do not like. Their petitfor melt on your mouth with an explosion of flavors that is hard to describe. The barazek reminds me of home (México), their date cookies, ghraybeh and tea biscuits make me want to have a cup of coffee or tea but alone they are outstanding. Now their baklava... I moved here from Michigan and I can say this bakery know what it's doing. If you are for some sweets this is the spot to hit! I've also tried their spinach and feta cheese pies and they were on point. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Super kind service!!The owner is friendly and one can see how much he cares about his craft in the way he describes each item, offers to taste, and the presentation of the store.On our way from Chicago to South Carolina and Florida we stopped in Lexington and I had to try this highly-rated bakery.I stumbled into Al-Taj while looking for artesian bread and twisted my husband’s arm to make a stop before our resting destination in town.My husband patiently waited in the car as I talked with the owner and selected various goodies. The owner was very polite and helpful, we had a delightful conversation and generously offered me two cups of Arabic coffee, one for my husband. The coffee was delicious, bold, and strong.The menu is extensive and they will prepare food when ordering. I was in a bit of a rush, trying to be considerate of my husband, so I selected items that were already prepared.So far the few treats that I had this evening were delectable - baklava, Fresh Baklava with cream ( وربات بالقشطة ), and various types of Turkish Delight (pistachio and caramel).I'm looking forward to tasting the rest tomorrow - Fresh dates cookies, Ghee cookies, Oreo Turkish Delight, and some savory items Fresh spinach pie with feta cheese and spinach pie with pomegranate molasses.So far Excellent all-around experience. I'm so glad I leave 6.5 hours away, otherwise I'll be in big troubleOh yea I have to go back tomorrow to try theFresh semolina cake!

You can tell that Al-Taj Bakery cares very much about the quality of their baked goods. The space is super clean and smells heavenly. The owner walked us through the sweets, and we chatted about our families. Not only are the products good, but the experience makes all the difference. We will be coming back again very soon!

My family and I sampled various types of turkish delight, all of which were delicious and better than any I've had anywhere. We also loved the date cookies, which have a very subtle flavor that's perfect with tea. We are looking forward to coming back soon to try more of the savory options.

What a gem of a bakery. The food is fresh and delicious. The owner, Rami is personable and interesting. We ordered a whole meal with dessert and Turkish coffee for 4 people. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Al Taj.

The food is delicious. The place is very clean. The owner is amazing, he wouldn’t serve me the fatayer because it dried up a little bit, so he went and baked fresh ones. He uses the best ingredients for the sweets and the food. It’s my new favorite Mediterranean bakery

Yesterday we had a family dinner, most of us came from many states. My sister in law who lives in Lexington brought spinach pies and ghee cookies (we call them "ghoraybe" in Lebanon) from Al Taj Sweets. The pie dough was flaky and blended well with other ingredients. The ghee cookies melted amazingly in the mouth. We enjoyed the food, we will visit AL Taj soon.
