“Was at proud Mary's for mothers day and had an wonderful time. Food was amazing. Upstairs bathroom was super clean. Out side area was super clean staff was also amazing and super clean. I see comments about an bathroom being not so clean. Well here is what I have to say don't let your children stuff whole roles of butt paper in the John's and if u make a mess let some one know. And the place is very old and down stair is an over flow restroom u would be complaining if it was closed. Yes it has water in floor but also seen a boy and girl playing in sink and stall. Over 5 out of if I could give 6 stars I would.“

“What a great neighborhood bar! The regulars and bartenders are friendly, interesting and funny. The karaoke is fantastic. I stopped by while in Lexington for a week of appts at UK MED. It was just what I needed. You'll meet no strangers here. Cheers!“

“Always a great time! Grounds are kept clean, staff is always wonderful, shuttles are provided back and fourth to the races. Can’t comment on prices as I did not do anything that personally cost me money, but I would say for events, etc it would be average for the area. Such a beautiful place! Lots of room too!“

“I found this bar 8 years ago when I was hitchhiking across the country. I was walking down US25 and it began to rain, I looked up the hill and there was this bar with a fine porch on the front where i could shelter from the storm. I had a few dollars so I bought a beer, but that was the only one I bought all night. The folks there were fascinated and adoring of me and my lifestyle. Where other crowds may have been distressed by my disheveled appearance, large hiking pack, guitar, and questionable odor, Rose and Jim's welcomed me with open arms and I ate and drank my fill inside by the neon lights, safe and dry from the warm Kentucky rain. After speaking with the people in charge, I'd come to find that ol' Jim had been a hobo of earier generations, doing precisely what I had been at that moment in life, when Rose (who was the love of his life) convinced him to settle down with her and open the bar. After a wonderful evening, the rain stopped and I took shelter in the old barn next to the bar. This was my first time back here since that time and besides having their outdoor area revamped, it retained its charm amd friendly atmosphere. This time I had the pork tenderloin sandwich and it was amazing. I highly recommend this spot for food, conversation, and from what I gather, a pretty competitive corn hole scene. Thanks again and I'll see ya next time Im coming through!“

“Great tavern the atmosphere is perfect“

“This place is great. Came in from out of town and went to a concert. Had to walk the dog and ended up in this great, pet friendly bar. We were so excited to find such a cool spot. Super affordable. Noticed half way through our first round that we had lost an expensive ring somewhere. The owner helped us look for a while and we left our information with him after not being able to find it. Turns out, it had been dropped outside and as luck would have it, some honest person turned it in the next day and the owner gave us a call and kept it safe until it could be retrieved. The atmosphere and space is great and the place is clean! (I’d know I was searching under tables and in the corners for that ring😆) I definitely recommend Devilish Current and we plan to return on our next visits to Lex.“

“we love this restaurant but, July 2 about 7 pm we came in. we saw there were two waitresses who repeatedly walked past our table. we kept thinking oh they are busy and will be right back. there were only about 5 tables with people who already had been served. about about 20 minutes we went to another restaurant.“

“Foods is decent bar food, service is friendly but the kitchen is easily overwhelmed (be patient, if necessary).
It's an undeniable favorite of the locals. It's not very comfortable or spacious but it has a vibe that works.“

“Ran by the most lovely couple. I walked in and everyone there knew the owners by name and was very comfortable. Been traveling for over a month and this was the most at home I’ve felt this trip.
Food was just also really bomb and high homemade quality.“

“We were in Lexington for a concert and searched restaurants near our hotel. Nic & Norman's menu looked good, and we appreciated the photos of each menu item. We made a reservation and had the best dinner from the food to the service. Everyone we enteracted with was so genuinely kind. I had the meatloaf and my husband had the BBQ pork burger. The meatloaf was amazing and completely made in house. The atmosphere is cozy industrial with exposed brick. If you are in doubt, this is your place for dinner.“
