Okay so I have been here a handful of times and have usually had a decent experience. I am rating this based on my experience yesterday on Christmas Day. I understand that restaurants are busy on Christmas especially because so few of them are open. I really wanted to enjoy my Christmas dinner. It was terrible. Dragon City is one of the only Chinese restaurants in Lexington that offers sesame seed balls as an appetizer and for one of my kids, that’s just about the only thing she will eat so we chose to order from this place. We placed our order at 6:35 and drove over there and got there around seven. It was very busy so what we drove around for a little while before we stopped in to make payment and then wait for our food. It is very apparent that Uber and DoorDash orders are more important than the people who are waiting for orders that they actually placed in person or on the phone. Again, I understand that it’s going to be busier on Christmas. There was a very high demand. I paid for my food about 30 minutes after I ordered it and then I proceeded to wait for an additional 40 minutes before I ever received my food so I waited a good hour and a half for one entrée, one noodle dish and three appetizers. They did not listen to the requests for the the dishes that we ordered, all the appetizers were very overcooked. It was, to be honest, a waste of $40 and most of the food went into the trash. It was very disappointing and I really hate to tear a business down. I really hate to leave a negative review, but based on this experience, we will never return to Dragon city and we will just continue to go to places like happy China, which we know are really good. I felt bad like I could tell that the staff were genuinely just so busy and trying to get orders out but again the priority on pushing Uber orders and DoorDash orders ahead of people who were in the store ordering or who had ordered online or who had called in to order is appalling to me. That’s showing that one type of customer is more important than the other type, I just think that that shouldn’t be the case. Orders should be made in the order in which they are received whether they are for takeout or delivery or walk in whatever it is. Don’t waste your money here. It’s not worth it, busy or not.

They are very friendly and accommodate requests. As many Chinese restaurants cook for the American, the food can be sweet and not very spicy. But if you put in comments, less sweet/more heat, they will do it! One of the better Chinese restaurants on our side of town.

Placing an order for dining in at lunch was ridiculous, some people should not try taking orders. I nearly walked out. The food a solid 3 stars, unfortunately we were eating in, a the plastic wear is very small and ultra cheap. There’s better places nearby! We do not recommend dining in here!!!

Very rude customer service. The woman at the front desk looked me up and down weirdly and wouldn’t hand me the food even though I confirmed the delivery she asked me to confirm it several times and I kept showing her but she wouldn’t give me the food
This place would absolutely be the BEST around if they didn't reheat everything. The flavor is wonderful, It's like they cook everything in the morning and just reheat throughout the day.The sweet and sour chicken is very hard as if it's been fried twice.The Bourbon chicken is wayy over cooked, it's very hard. Can't hardly chew it.If they would cook everyone's order fresh this place would be 5 stars!

I absolutely love Dragon City. Service is fast. Amount of food you get for 8-12$ is way more than most places around Lexington. PLUS, my stomach always feels good after eating there. So they make real food, really well.
