I remember coming here last year, and it was awesome. But this time, it was horrible.

My family ordered the chicken tenders, and they were impossible to eat. Super hard and dry. And then, trying to get a refill on my drink took forever, which was the worst because that dry chicken sucked up all the moisture in my mouth. I was actually suffering waiting for a drink!

I don’t think I’m gonna come back here for a long time. What a letdown.

I had my first gluten free fried chicken meal. It was so yummy and great that they had a dedicated fryer for gluten free. I was able to order fries with my meal. The environment was amazing definitely college nostalgia for UK. Enjoyed the old timey music and all the memorabilia.

As a former Lexington local who now lives out of state, Gus’s is always my go-to spot whenever I’m back in town — and for good reason. The food is consistently incredible — hot, flavorful, and made just right. During my most recent visit, a piece of chicken was accidentally left out of my order. I gave them a quick call, and I was truly impressed by how they handled it. They said the owner would personally deliver it, and to my surprise, they showed up with a full plate and dessert! That kind of customer service is rare and genuinely appreciated. I was already a fan, but this experience sealed it. I’ll definitely be back and will keep spreading the word — Gus’s is a must-try!

We went on our lunch break it took 30 min to get our food. The bread was burnt and chicken sandwich was very little. Attitude was terrible. Didn't get the side we asked for. W9nt return.

Gluten free fried chicken. Dedicated fryer. Just mention the allergy.

The chicken is tasty, but be warned, it's spicy. I like spicy, so I enjoyed it 😋.

There I was driving across the country, making my way north through Kentucky about an hour away from Lexington. I had a hankering for some good southern food, preferably fried catfish or fried chicken with some greens, mac and cheese, or fried green tomatoes. A quick Google map search showed me Gus's Fried Chicken with great reviews so I set it up on my map. I got there and met Letoya, who works there, and she gave me a good overview of the menu and gave me the best options for a shared family meal of everything I was craving. Long story short, Letoya and the cooks were awesome and made some of the best damn fried chicken I've had in a long time. They season their chicken perfectly and the skin is almost as crispy as pork rinds, but the chicken is juicy. That's the best way I can explain it. 8 hours later and I can't stop thinking about how good that chicken was. Thank you for some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. 9.3 out of 10 for a review. Amazing fried chicken and sides. Also, try the chocolate chess pie. I think that's what it was called. Thank you Letoya!

We were there on Sat afternoon about 1, it was not too busy. For a short time then it was packed. The fried chicken was moist and crispy, but the baked Beans could be hotter. The chicken sandwich was a limited time only, the thigh meat really separated it from typical chicken sandwich.

Always like to eat at Gus's in different locations. Flavor is always good, chicken tast doesn't vary! Even in Kentucky! Server was great!

Gus’s in Lexington is just as good as Mason, Tn location. I grew up out side of Mason and this is definitely a taste of home. Better than my grandmother’s chicken but I am not telling her this!

Not busy at all and they are extremely slow. Waiters quit talking to the cooks!

As soon as you walk in you’re welcomed by smiling faces with music and an amazing atmosphere ?
We’ve had the original location of Gus’s in Mason and let me tell you!!! This place is JUST AS GOOD!!! The chicken is filled w flavor, the okra is filled with flavored and the Mac n cheese is FILLED with flavor.
Everything about this experience was top tier.
I’ll make an hour drive for this food anyday ??
