First saw a great couple of reviews on Facebook in a Lexington Food Group that piqued my interest so I decided to give the place a try. Very good decision on our part!We started with the Voodoo Chicken Nachos and these were Fantastic (probably filled up too much). I ordered the special which was some type of Vietnamese dish with Drunken Chicken as the meat base. There were tons of other things in this and I will list as many as I can (various peppers, various mushrooms, onions, fresh parsley, low mein noodles and more) all in a broth. I cannot begin to tell you how flavorful this meal was. My wife ordered the Appalachian Fried Chicken which comes over mashed potatoes and assorted vegetables plus a small cucumber salad. My wife enjoyed this equally! We chased it all with a Pumpkin Spice cupcake with Orange and the Beignets. Both of these were also very good. The Beignets were not typical. Skinnier and denser and tasted closer to a powdered scone but came with a dip that I believe had maybe apple and caramel in it.Overall this was a fantastic meal! What put an already great meal over the top was the Executive Chef came out and talked to us. He has an amazing amount of energy and passion for what he is doing. Please give this place a go.

My wife, daughter and I stumbled across this place while visiting Lexington last night from Cincinnati and we couldn't have been happier! We started with the Hush Puppy Poutine and it was to die for. My wife had the voodoo chicken nachos, which were VERY good, and I had the Appalachian Fried chicken (with mashed potatoes and greens and a cucumber salad) and the combination was fantastic. PLEASE MOVE TO CINCINNATI. The owner came out and talked with us and he was quite friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Great food, incredibly friendly staff. I would particularly recommend anything with their shrimp, it's cooked and seasoned exceptionally.

The Hushpuppy Poutine is a must. It's wonderful. For dinner I got the Voodoo chicken and could not have been happier with my decision. Wish I had a second stomach so I could enjoy it 4-5 helpings of it.Lovely place with a little outside seating area as well. Priced really well too. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

The chefs and staff here are very friendly. The interior is nice and the food is delicious. Gumbo looked delicious so I want to eat it next time. We had a very enjoyable lunch time.

Stopped in for lunch and was so impressed with the service, atmosphere and most of all the food. The hush puppy poutine was incredible, and everything about the burger was perfect. The chef whipped up some fresh succotash when I requested something light as a side. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!

Food was delicious. Atmosphere was fitting for the style and food. They need a vent for proper ventilation for the frying of food because I have never been in a restaurant where the air was so foggy. They were short staffed but were very friendly and attentive when they could.

Seating best for groups of less than 8. Fabulous food well presented. Reasonable portions. Reasonable prices for food prepared with care.excellent server. Chef came out to check on us. Whitefish was rich but delicious. Etoufee had some welcomed heat but not too much. Well made fries. Finished this filling meal with hot and fresh beignets with an addictive chocolate caramel sauce. Very accessible menu including small variety of quality wine, beer and spirits.

Went back for take out with last Saturday evening (Aug. 7). My friends sat at the "bar" top and were greeted by water on such a hot day. It was perfect! I ordered the voodoo chicken. It was SO good, but believe me the spice is not subtle. It had great spice, the bread on the side was perfectly buttered, AND the portion was huge. I ate it over two days. Again, Chef Daniel and the sous chefs are doing an awesome job serving great food. Maybe next time I'll go before I'm hungry and actually get pictures. Try it and see for yourself!

The red snapper special was amazing. Should have taken a picture.

Formerly JGumbos, this unassuming spot is the defining experience of from-scratch, homegrown, niche cozy atmosphere. Positive vibes emanate the establishment through the art deco, upbeat staff, and fantastic foods.

Went during burger week and the staff was amazing. They were slammed but everyone was clearly doing their best to get food out fast. The burger itself was AMAZING.

Their entry for Burger Week was top of my list to try. Was NOT disappointed. Flavorful and just the right size to fit in some perfectly cooked hush puppies. Thought I was back in the Carolinas for a minute with those puppies.......
