Joella’s Hot Chicken - Hamburg

Went in on a Thursday afternoon a week or so ago. The tall guy with black hair (dont know his name as he didnt tell us) who greeted us was very rude. He must have been a manager as he had a different shirt on than others. He had an attitude and basically made me and my husband feel dumb. He needs to be fired. First time I've seen him and I've been coming to this location since it opened. Will go to the Cochran location from now on because of him.

The chicken was not good. I had more gristle in it than I would ever care to eat and it was dry and bland. Overall not great and I'm not sure if I went on an off day or if what I had was the average experience but I won't be back.

Amazing chicken tenders! Not heavily breaded, juicy and Ella’s fav had the perfect amount of a little heat. We need this in Canada!

This location is hit or miss every single time. Doesn't compare to the middletown location near Louisville, which is always good.

Hot chicken done right. I always get chicken and waffles and the waffles are usually cold but yummy enough. The chicken tenders are to die for however.

I ordered two wings and one was missing the skin on one side. The lady next to me told me she just returned that wing after biting into it. So yeah... One star

It's got your above average Nashville chicken but beware the sauces can be hotter than you would think and I suggest sampling before u commit

i came in at open! i enjoyed the lunch special, and both mike, the cashier and matthew was super kind and helpful. the environment was nice and friendly, the restaurant was clean, the bathroom (women’s) was well stocked and cleaned, i enjoyed my food, and tried the cheerwine bbq sauce!! first time eating fried pickles here too. i definitely recommend coming in. and greatly appreciate the service i received. great job joelle’s!!
also try the banana pudding. it’s delicious and homemade! or rather house made lol

We were on our way to a staff retreat and someone in our group recommended Joellas. I had been to one in Mason a few years ago and really enjoyed it. So we stopped there. We arrived around 430pm which was perfect. It was not busy yet. The staff member at the counter was very friendly and helpful in giving out good information. I ordered the 3 tender meal with fries and greens. You can order your chicken with specific heat. I did the "Tweener" which was medium heat. It was spicy but not unbearable. Great flavor. Chicken was juicy, not dry. I really enjoyed the greens. Staff was friendly and came around to make sure everything was OK. I hope they open one closer to where I live. Highly recommend.

Just as tasty as the Chevy Chase Joella's. Got there close to 11:00 am and it took a few minutes to get my food. I take that as a good thing. Made to order not food that has been sitting around.

Update, twice in the last few months they were short staffed. So much, that had a delayed opening that day(s). Plus, after 15 minutes waiting to have our order taken, we went somewhere else.

Also, I wish they would have the cod fish year round.

Chicken was pretty tasty. A bit overcooked and dry though. Super salty collard greens. 20 mins to get my food even though I was literally the only guest in the restaurant.

Excellent first time experience! Marcella was great at welcoming us in and explaining the menu options to us. The fried tenders were hot and fresh and the oreo dessert was great as well!
