Was pretty excited for my wife and I to eat here. Ambience was decent, the restaurant itself is very nice and cozy. Food was somewhere between typical country club fare and convalescent home. Very basic, nothing remotely fancy or special. The hot brown I had fell flat - not bad but certainly not one of the better hot browns you'd expect in Kentucky. Wife had the mediterranean chicken. She said it was likewise not memorable - again not bad but nothing she would ever order again. Service was quite slow- the server was very nice but she was having a tough time keeping up with the tables she had. Looks like their specialty is fried chicken as many people had it on their plates. Fried chicken should be good in Kentucky for cryin out loud. lol

Wonderful dinner and ambiance. The salmon was beyond tasty and the prime never disappoints. I proposed to my wife in the same room almost 37 years ago and it still holds the same special feel and flavor.

We had the filet and the halibut as our main courses. Our main courses were excellent both perfectly cooked and ate every bit of our main courses. The baked potato was good (not sure how to make that taste bad) but the sides there could use a little work. The corn pudding is eggy texture, the carrots were good but would have loved a sauce of some kind to elevate them because they were just basic, and the specialty side was Mac n cheese with som kind of BBQ on top was not good. The Mac n cheese tasted like it came from the freezer section of wal mart and warmed up in a skillet...don't order it. The desserts were wonderful. Fantastic butterscotch bread pudding and the carrot cake was excellent. Our server was great! Can't remember his name but 5 stars to him on service.

Every moment of our dining experience was warm and memorable. We had dinner on Wednesday night, fried chicken special night, and for sure, it was special. The best chicken and mashed potatoes w gravy ever. We ended race day with an amazing memory. Thanks to Yip, our server, who did a great job!

We were seated in the far corner of a dining room in the back & really enjoyed the location. The food was exceptional, as always & our server, John, was quite impressive!

We always book a table at Merrick Inn when in Lexington! Tonight, they didn't disappoint! Service was spot on (best filthy martini I've had in a long time, and service was attentive but not annoying. Fried chicken (our standard go-to) was crispy outside and juicy inside, with a generous serving of four pieces. We were stuffed after dinner, but ordered a piece of carrot cake to go, and it was ginormous, more than enough for both of us to snack on as we watched football. Thanks for another great evening of food and drinks, Merrick team! We'll be back on our next visit to Keeneland and the Bourbon Trail! 💕

I have always loved Merrick historically but the food was not the same. Their chicken in the past has been off the hook good but it was overcooked and not even the same recipe possibly. The lobster nachos were not the same either. They were brought out cold and the normal bubbly cheese was absent. I took two bites and usually I would stuff myself. The ambience and service were perfection but the actually food experience was lacking today. I've moved from Lexington so I was so excited to enjoy it all again today but it was disappointing overall.
Excellent service and food. A common didn't our large party with a lot of requests for this mile.

After making reservations online and specifying that wanted to be seated at the patio they reserved indoor bar area table. Seemed there were enough concierges working there to take proper reservations. On the other hand the staff seemed distracted and the first glass of wine was rank.
