Mondelli's Bake Shop

I’m not typically one to negatively review a business, but after three negative experiences with Mondelli’s I feel compelled to do so. Their cakes are delicious and honestly my favorite in town. The service, however, has consistently been disappointing. Last year for my oldest son’s birthday they shorted us about half the cupcakes we ordered. Thankfully it was a Saturday and was early enough that we were able to go back and have them provide us with the missing cupcakes. Fast forward to this year and we had the exact same experience for my middle son’s birthday, but it was too late in the day once we realized what happened and we had to supplement with store-bought for his party. When I reached out to the owner I felt I had to jump through hoops to try to provide information regarding our order because they do not have a modern ordering system. Finally we were able to determine the amount I should be credited back and I told her we would use it towards a future birthday. This week my husband called to place an order for a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream to pick up today for my birthday, which is tomorrow. When he arrived and checked the cake he discovered they had made it incorrectly. He specifically requested chocolate buttercream and the cake was made with original buttercream. They even had the receipt with the correct information on it—they just made it wrong. Whoever was at the store used our credit towards this incorrectly made cake and didn’t charge my husband the remaining $10 (roughly) as if that was doing us a favor. They are not open tomorrow so basically we were told there was nothing else to be done. I am very disappointed and will no longer be giving them our family’s business.

Mondelli's use to be the absolute best bakery. Now you can't even get a cinamen roll. Just some cookies and old looking cakes. What a shame. Looks like they are going out of business.

Saved my husband's birthday 🎂 because we waited last minute to get a cake on a Sunday. I called at 8:45 am and picked up the cake before they closed at noon. This was the best bday cakes ever 😋, so many compliments from our guests and everyone wanted to take home a piece. My only regret was not ordering a larger cake. Thank y'all so so much for making our last minute chocolate cake with buttercream icing utterly delicious!

The petit fours are so good. I hadn't had them in years, so I'm happy to have found a place in town that sells them!

The cakes look great as well; if/when I ever need to order a large decorative cake, I will be calling Mondelli's.

Mondelli’s has done so many cakes for my family so I knew I wanted them for my wedding, especially that perfect buttercream icing they have!! They’re always so kind And they did amazing! We got sooo many compliments on our cake!! Thank you so much Mondelli’s!!

We used to order all of our birthday cakes from Mondelli’s when we lived in Lexington. Not sure why, but it’s been 10 years since we had one of their delicious cakes. My husband’s favorite is white cake with buttercream icing, so that’s what I ordered for his birthday. The cake did not disappoint!!! Cake was moist & tasty and the buttercream icing was the best around. I usually end up scraping much of the icing off because it’s so heavy, but Mondelli’s buttercream is perfect. I will definitely not wait another 10 years to order a cake from them again ??❣️

Haven't been at this location in a couple of years, finally stopped by and picked up a chocolate chip cookie sandwich for my daughter. She said she doesn't like it, she LOVES it. And the bonbon was so delish. ?

Awesome buttercream icing and very friendly environment

I never write reviews, even for things I really love, but I had to give Mondelli’s a glowing one — they knocked my daughter’s 9th birthday cake out of the park! I had gotten cupcakes at this shop before, so I knew it would be delicious, but I am just so impressed at how well they achieved the rather specific look we wanted. It looked exactly like I envisioned, and the birthday girl LOVED it. We got the chocolate/vanilla marble flavor, and it tasted totally great. Thank you Mondelli’s!

I've been going here since I was a child with my family. Now I bring my children here. Amazing service and the desserts are the best! They did our wedding cake and it was the most perfect cake! I can't recommend them enoug!
