Omakase Sushi & Sake Bar at Chevy Chase

Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. An all time favorite restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky.

We had a lovely dinner! The food was exceptional and not at all the mundane copy-cat sushi menu. All the traditional favorites were thee, but their list of daily fresh offerings was extensive. The service was attentive but not invasive. Top on our list!

What a wonderful surprise to find sushi, flown in from Japan, in the middle of horse country! While passing through to visit the Bourbon Trail, my husband and I had a craving for sushi. Found Zen Sushi through the many 5* reviews, and it was all that and more! While it is in a shopping plaza, don't let that deceive you! We decided to sit at the actual Sushi bar vs the table we booked because we love to watch the chefs...we were lucky enough to have Kayla, the manager, serve us as both bar tender and server. Wow! She makes a wonderful cocktail. The sushi was amazing. We stuck with sashimi and a great Caliente roll. Another server even whipped up a sake shot for us to try. This team is well trained and so accommodating. One of the best sushi experiences we've had. We will return if ever in the area again!

It’s weird to us that this has such high reviews - everything was just “meh.” Meh sushi, meh service, meh ambience. We unfortunately wouldn’t come back here again.

This was our first visit to Zen Sushi and it was excellent. The waitress was excellent, she was super prompt and very professional. The food was delicious. We will return.

Zen is by far my favorite sushi spot in Lexington. Their fresh catch list is awesome and changes often. Entrees are great too if you don't want sushi.

We love Zen Sushi - they have so many creative options of rolls and sushi / sashimi that you don't find at other places. The staff is also very helpful and friendly.

Love this place, it has really great options and a lot of variety right from authentic Japanese rolls to fusion rolls!
You can taste the freshness of the ingredients in the food!

I made reservations for my wifes birthday and asked for the chef to make something special. We got there and ordered. The young waitress mentioned it was my wifes birthday and said oh, we just give you a free desert when youre done. We said ok and ordered. She later on dropped a little slip of paper at the other end of the table we were sitting and walked away. I thought i was just so they knew all that we had ordered so didnt pay much attention to it. I asked her to ask the chef to make us something of his choosing foe the occasion and she seemed bewildered but said ok. We got our food and were almoat through when I asked her if the chef was almoat done with whatever he was making. She again looked confused and said oh, i didn't know you wanted something, then said well the chef dis make this special because he put all the sushi on one plate. The she appologiclzed and said do you want to order more food, ill go tell him. I said no its fine. So she walked away. When we were getting up to leave i glanced at the slip of paper - it was all the fresh fish they had gotten the day before AND THE REASON I CHOSE THAT PLACE! I had no idea thats what the paper was and the waitress never said anything. This was our first time at this place and the first time my wife could have sushi in several years due to breastfeeding. While the food was good and the waitress was overly present and nice, it was highly frustrating that we werent able to order the new fish and that the girl didnt tell the chef anything. Several missed opportunities for not only upsales, but for us to get what we actually went there for. I dont know that we will be back. It was a disappointment. Im also much more annoyed than my wife was/is, but I also make the reservations for us.
