This is a truly great sushi place! My husband and I went here for lunch on our anniversary. You don't really need a reservation for lunchtime, but I made one just in case. The food is great! The service was good. The lunch menu is very reasonably priced. The variety of food that isn't sushi is nice, as well, in case that's not your thing.

The staff was so welcoming and knowledgeable; the food was fresh, creative, and flavorful; the ambiance was fun and urban. Loved it!

We visited School Sushi while visiting for the wknd from Ohio … our servers name was Joe & I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant until tonight. He put in our order wrong & then blatantly blamed it on us when we said we didn’t receive the right items - and then instead of making it right for us, he was rude & walked away from the table. We ate our dinner - which was below average imo for a sushi restaurant & never received our soup order even after finishing our dinner - when we asked Joe about the soup - he said in a very rude manner to us that it was our fault for placing the wrong order & then again walked away .. I’m literally so upset that myself, husband, my 82 yr old mother and my two teenage girls were treated with such disrespect while we were trying to have a nice dinner while on vacation. He was the rudest server I’ve ever had in my entire life.

Food is garbage!! It shouldn’t even be considered food at all.

First off, Joe is one of the best servers my wife and I have ever met.

Second - I lived in Japan for 4 years and have been wanting Japanese curry since I left… this is the real stuff! Amazing.

For the chefs: I loved to go to Coco’s and have a couple requests. Your curry is better but would love another level of spicyšŸŒ¶ļø. Second, is garlic cheese naan bread a thing? I didn’t even ask Joe, but I was laying in bed thinking about it… with some honey…

Went here for a girls night on a Tuesday night . It wasn’t packed at all which was so nice ! We all had ramen and sushi . I tried the tan tan noodles (8.5/10) very great flavor and I liked that the pork was ground up and not just sliced like traditional ramen usual has, the broth also had a very nice subtle kick to it from the chili oil . We also got regular edamame and some edamame Peperoncino with had such nice flavor 100% recommend . The garlic was so flavorful ! And last we got sushi , I got the spicy crunch roll and I really enjoyed it (8/10) a friend got the basic fried California roll but she took out avocado and added cream cheese which was a great idea ! The cream cheese was so warm and creamy and worked really well with the tempura out layer.

Aside from a beautiful venue with a vault, super tasty sushi, and a family recipe curry which was beautiful, our server was wonderful. The kids loved his service and interaction and attentiveness. Much love from the Windy City. You folks are the BEST!!

I hate to post a bad review of an independent restaurant but about an hour after our meal I started violently evacuating from both ends, for the next several hours. My wife likewise had to wake up the middle of the night with GI distress. The only thing we both had was the chicken karage.

The meal itself was fine. Kitchen a little understaffed with the first entree of our 6 person group coming out about 20 minutes from the last entree served. The food itself was average to slightly above average. Mediocre ramen and good sushi/cutlet rice dishes. Not a bad meal, but not worth the food poisoning.

Please take this as an opportunity to reexamine food storage, safety, and handling.

Honestly the best service and sushi in Lexington. You genuinely feel like family walking into the building, ken the chef is absolutely a god among men. I can't express how welcoming Cody is and how the whole team makes sure the experience is grade A.

Weird menu. Odd staff. Overall very bland experience. Don't plan on going back anytime soon.
