This is the absolute best Chinese food in Lexington. The food is always stellar and the owner is such a sweetheart. A treasure!

We enjoyed the friendly conversation and the food was fantastic! Our daughter is very particular on how she likes it and they made just the way she likes it. Perfect! 😋

My order is always hot, correct and delicious! I also appreciate all the staff here, they work so hard!

New Shanghai Bistro Tates Creek Centre is a hidden gem. It's located right next door to Kroger and several other businesses in that Strip Mall. It has a very quaint look and feel to it. It's my go-to whenever we are shopping or visiting friends/family, in the area. The lady who takes your order is really friendly. She wants to know everything about how you want your food(i.e. spice tolerance, dislikes etc). So, if you're a picky eater, this is a spot for you. What surprised us was the fact that there are pictures of, I'm Assuming, every single dish they serve, on their wall. I have never seen that before. That was pretty cool to see and look at. At least you knew what that dish looks like or supposed to look like.

Now, on to the food. Y'all it's HOT, so make sure to blow on it. DO NOT do what I did and just popped it into my mouth, immediately. For the record, I was HUNGRY! Everything we ordered was good, fresh and the stuffed to the rim. Some people reviewing this place, complaining about the prices; but you're getting double the portion..duh. Each plate can easily feed 2 people. You'll have leftovers for sure. There was a review from Ty-Ah May claiming the lady was racist against People of Color, claiming she wrote the 'N-word' on their receipt. Well, she is NOT! Heck, I'm a Person of Color; as well as, the rest of my family and she was nice to us. So please, disregard ALL of those negative reviews and try this place for yourself.

They are open every day except on Monday. So plan accordingly. So, if you're in the Tates Creek area and have a hunger for Chinese food, head over to New Shanghai Bistro in Tates Creek Centre.

Tried to make a taken out order and was met with a very rude girl on the other end of the phone.

I kept my composure and began to tell her my order, after I ordered TWO things on the menu the attitude got worse and worse I ended up not placing the order and hung up.

Do not recommend.

The staff is very friendly. This was my first time ordering. The food is amazing. The best Chinese food I've had in a long time. I will definitely go back. The dumplings are triple the size of other places for about the same price. The serving size is each dish is enough for 2-3 people.

Upon placing my take out order, the lady that answered the phone was very pleasant and courteous. On my arrival, the same lady was very kind and friendly. The food was delicious, hot and she organized the items in the containers with much care. I highly recommend!!!! I ordered Sweet & sour Chicken with chicken fried rice and egg rolls, so yummy ?

Ordered some barbecue ribs last night and they were the worst I had ever ate not only they were overcooked. They were very tough. I would never eat there again, once I’m disappointed at an establishment . It’s a done deal.

Close by and really good. It's a small space in a strip mall. But the food is above average for Lexington. Folks are nice too.

A bit pricey, but the food is excellent. I got sweet and sour shrimp, but got sweet and sour prawns! They were huge, succulent and delicious and lastly they gave me a huge portion which left me more than full lol!
