I moved here from Cincinnati, and I must say that their food was comparable to the delicious Benihana chain EXCEPT for the blah fried rice. The rice was tolerable, but was absolutely no comparison to Benihana and I was highly disappointed because a few Lexingtonians recommended this place. Tekka can get away with the blah rice here in Lexington because not much Hibachi competition. Their rice just doesn’t compare to Benihana and other popular Hibachi places in Cincinnati. The salad, steak and chicken were good though.
Best Japanese version of fried rice in Lexington, hands down!

I’ve been to famous sushi restaurants in Washington DC, Miami, and Louisville but none of them compare to Tekka. The place looks fancy but homey, the waiters practically treat you like a honored guest but also a human being. Most importantly the food is great. I’ve brought friends and family to Tekka and everyone loves it. My favorite is the sushi. For all sushi enjoyers out there Tekka provides the perfect size and flavor of sushi. Unlike some lower quality sushi restaurants Tekka sushi rolls are decently sized but not too big. The quality of the fish is top tier, the avocados are as fresh as ever so is all the other ingredients. I recommend the Amazon River roll (raw) half high quality tender tuna and half cream cheese on the inside, wrapped with nori (seaweed), then white rice, topped with fresh avocado, then a sweet crab salad. It’s sweet, savory, creamy/nutty, with the perfect texture.
Vegetarian options: There’s hibachi vegetables, miso, rices, meals that can be edited to be vegetarian or vegan and symbols on the menu showing vegetarian options.
Dietary restrictions: The staff is considerate and will accommodate an order, or even give another meal without charge if the one you got is unable to be consumed for any reasons.
Parking: Plenty of spots, completely free.
Kid-friendliness: There’s options for kids and staff is willing to change a order if the kid is a picky eater so they can enjoy the food too.
Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, plenty of room to sit wheel chair over next to the table on hibachi. Table chairs have a place to go if someone uses a wheelchair instead. Generous and helpful staff I’ve seen help accommodate those with physical disabilities and wheelchairs.

Teppanyaki was great (had chicken and scallops) but the sushi was bland. We sat at a table (not at a hibachi grill) and the service was great.
