Beer Cheese Platter
House made beer cheese served with celery, pretzels and crackers.
Cowboy Caviar Starter
Corn, black beans, black eyed peas, onions, red pepper and spices served with blue corn tortilla chips.
Spicy Corn Queso
House made corn queso served warm with blue corn tortilla chips.
Buffalo Chicken Dip
Hot and cheesy buffalo chicken dip served warm with blue corn tortilla chips.

12 oz bowl. Pinto beans slow cooked in traditional Kentucky style with onions and relish on the side served with a corn mash muffin made from spent barrel house grains.
Elkhorn Burgoo
12 oz bowl. Burgoo has been served in Kentucky distilleries since the early 1800s. Ours is made with elk rabbit, beef and vegetables. Served with a corn mash muffin made from spent barrel house grains.
Tavern Salad
Grilled chicken breast on a bed of mixed greens, toasted pecans, dried cranberries and feta. Served with balsamic vinaigrette.

Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich
Served on toasted bun with barrel house select bourbon sauce, coleslaw, chips and horseradish pickles.
Pimento Cheese
House made with a hint of jalapeno, topped with bacon crumbles, lettuce, tomato and grilled.

House made with pecans, celery, grapes. Served with lettuce and tomato.

We're drawn to the Elkhorn Tavern for its Friday night shows by the Marble Creek Rangers. Had a margarita tonight made by the happy bartender with a ponytail, and it was delicious! 😋

Great bourbon selection. Great people working there. Had a great conversation. That being said, we stuck with the Kentucky exclusive Barrel House bourbon. Definitely an up and comer. Drinks like a legacy bourbon even though they're relatively new. We bought a bottle to bring home since it's not offered outside of Kentucky at this time. We had other plans so we had to leave after a couple drinks, but I would have happily stayed all day. They offer food too so definitely...

This fun tavern is a stop on the Bourbon trail in Lexington , KY in the Barrel House Distillery. The staff is so much fun. The bar staff is not only knowledgeable about bourbon, but they are so friendly and engaging. We’ve been twice now to eat and purchase bottles from the distillery just because we had so much fun! Grab a bite and a bottle- don’t skip this stop!
